International Clinical Fellow In Paediatric Critical Care Medicine
International Paediatric Critical Care Fellowship The Division of Paediatric Critical Care Medicine of Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) has devised a 12 to 24 month fellowship programme to meet the requirements of senior trainees from around the globe seeking to qualify as specialists in Paediatric Critical Care Medicine. The Division of Paediatric Critical Care Medicine CHI at Crumlin houses a 23 bedded Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) incorporating both a General and Cardiac ICU. It is one of the largest ICUs in the UK and Ireland with approximately 1,000 admissions per annum and supports multiple national sub-specialist services including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery (at quaternary level for the Island of Ireland), oncology, gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, endocrinology, neurology and ENT. Furthermore, it houses Ireland’s only extracorporeal life support (ECLS) service for children. The PICU at CHI Temple Street is a 9 bedded general unit which supports the national metabolic and neurosurgical services amongst others and facilitates the national renal transplant programme. It receives over 400 admissions yearly. Both units staff the Irish Paediatric Acute Transport Service (IPATS), which stabilises and retrieves patients referred from throughout Ireland, by both land and air. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must have completed at least 2 years of subspecialty training in the field of paediatrics, anaesthesiology or emergency medicine and 6 months of tertiary level neonatal, paediatric or adult intensive care. Applications Fellowships commence in Jan or July of any given year. We advise those interested to apply at least 12 months in advance of their preferred start date and ideally 18 months in advance albeit occasionally places may become available at short notice and enquiries are welcome at any time. Purpose of Position: As part of the larger Student Services Team, the Examinations and Assessment Office plays a key role in supporting the administration of examination logistics, grade processing, academic history record management, and awards at NCI. The office also provides essential assessment-related support and guidance to staff and students. The objective of this role is to support the Head of Assessment and Examinations by supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Examinations Office. This includes responsibilities such as exam timetable coordination, external examiner liaison, broadsheet preparation, and the administration of grade records and awards.
