Clinical Nurse Manger, Infection Prevention & Control Department
Purpose of the Role: The purpose of this post is to lead and co-ordinate the established Infection Prevention and Control Nursing Team (IPCT) and will be responsible, with the DON IPC and the Consultant Microbiologist(s) for co-ordinating, providing and maintaining comprehensive IPC in the organisation. To enhance patient care by developing services relating to the prevention and control of infection and to assist overall in optimising quality and continuity of care. The post holder will work collaboratively with the CNM3 in the Crumlin site (governance over Crumlin and Tallaght), to ensure that there is CNM3 cover across sites. Essential criteria: 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition: (i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered. And (ii) Have at least 5 years post-registration fulltime experience (or an aggregate of 5 years post-registration full-time experience) of which 2 years (or an aggregate of 2 years post registration full time experience) must be in the specialty or related area. Clinical Management System EPMA Local Lead Pharmacist
· Chief II Pharmacist Grade · 0.5 WTE (17.5 hours), · Temporary Specified Purpose Contract - 12 months initially (There may be an option to extend to 3 years depending on the roll out of the Community Connect Programme for Specialist Palliative Care nationally) · HSE Funded The EPMA Local Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for providing the highest standard of specialist pharmacy expertise and leadership at local level for the innovative development, implementation and ongoing support of the National Specialist Palliative Care-Clinical Management System (SPC-CMS)project at OLH&CS and MCC within Community Connect. He/she will work with their local pharmacy teams, steering groups and CMS project leads. The EPMA Local Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for leading on the development of a digital electronic prescribing and medication administration (EPMA) solution as part of the CMS project to support medicines management in OLH&CS, MCC and specialist palliative care services nationally. The EPMA Local Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for providing leadership in implementing complex clinical and service change within their local SPC teams. He/she will need to work collaboratively with other departments such as nursing, medical and information technology departments Essential Requirements: Qualifications · Be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (The Pharmacy Regulator) or be entitled to be so registered. · Have a full driver’s license Experience · Have a least 5 years satisfactory post-registration hospital experience or other applicable experience. Neonatal Transport Fellowship
The ideal candidate will have: • A minimum of 12 months’ experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a Paediatric trainee. • A high degree of competence in the technical procedures related to NICU patients, including endotracheal intubation, cannulation of umbilical vessels and peripheral veins and arteries, and emergency drainage of pneumothoraces. • Ability to demonstrate independent expertise in the assessment and management of critically ill babies, including expert resuscitation skills. • Good understanding of transport specific equipment. Qualifications & Experience • Successful completion of MRCPI examinations or equivalent is desirable. • Minimum of 12 months’ experience in Level 3 NICU as a Paediatric trainee. • Previous neonatal critical care transport experience is essential. • Knowledge of the Irish health care structure is desirable. Overview of the position • The key area of responsibility is to provide medical care during primary neonatal retrievals. Fellow is expected to be primarily scheduled for transport duties within the current agreed usual working hours as outlined by local and national regulations. • The Fellow may provide back up support in NICU when not out on retrievals. Outside of the National Maternity Hospital/Coombe “transport weeks”, the Fellow may participate in the work within acute inpatient departmental setting or on board of the NNTP Critical Care Vehicles as tasked by Neonatal Transport Consultant. During this time, the Fellow is expected to progress their research project. Fellows do not participate on OPD workflow. • Position is currently not accredited for training by the RCPI; however, NNTP seeks this accreditation in the view of proposed Irish Neonatal-Perinatal training scheme. This post is generally suitable as a standalone post outside of an HMT scheme. • Salary is in accordance with current HSE pay scales for Registrars. Rosters conform with the principles of safe working hours. There will be a requirement for on-call duty. • Nights and weekends on duty for NNTP are currently non-resident (provided the post-holder resides within 30 minutes of base). Nights and weekend on duty for Rotunda/National Maternity Hospital/Coombe NICU (optional) are resident as per established hospital practices.
