Purpose of Role To fulfil the function of the Alternative Care Inspection and Monitoring in children’s services and to encourage best practice developments in accordance with the National Standards and relevant legislation. The post holder will be an authorised person under the auspices of the relevant sections of the Child Care Act 1991, and the Child & Family Agency Act 2013. To inspect non-statutory children’s residential centres in accordance with Child Care (Placement of Children in Residential Care) Regulations 1995 as amended, Part III, Article 17 and the Child Care (Standards in Children’s Residential Centres 1996). The core function of the post is to provide an independent review on the quality of the services for children in residential care in accordance with the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres 2018 (HIQA). Undertaking the necessary checks of compliance to meet registration requirements and to undertake required assessment and inspections. To assist the relevant registration panel in their assessment of registration applications by the presentation of evidence informed recommendations as required. To assist in the monitoring of non-statutory foster care services and to promote best practice in the provision of services to foster carers and children in foster care. To develop inspection and monitoring reports in accordance with agency policy and guidelines. The post holder will assist the National Manager in the examination of significant event notifications, unsolicited information, and complaints in respect of relevant alternative care children’s services. Reporting Relationship The post holder will report to the assigned Inspection & Monitoring Manager Alternative Care. The appointee shall commence on the first point of the salary scale. Incremental credit may be given on appointment for certain types of relevant experience – more information available in Appendix 5. Candidates should note that entry will be at the minimum point of the scale and will not be subject to negotiation, and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Different terms and conditions may apply if the appointee is a currently serving civil or public servant. Working Week The standard working week applying to the whole time equivalent of this post is: 35 hours. Annual Leave The annual leave associated with the whole time equivalent of this post is 30 days per annum. Superannuation This is a pensionable position with Tusla. The successful candidate will upon appointment become a member of the appropriate pension scheme. Pension scheme membership will be notified within the contract of employment. Probation A probation period of 39 weeks, or proportion of same for fixed term / specified purpose contracts (where applicable), shall apply from the commencement of employment, during which the contract may be terminated by either party in accordance with this contract. The probationary period may be extended at the discretion of management by a further 9 weeks or proportion of same for fixed term/specified purpose contracts (where applicable). Confirmation of appointment as a permanent member of staff is subject to the successful completion of the probationary period, for permanent contracts. Where you have already completed a probationary period with the Child and Family Agency, Health Service Executive, or Local Authority, and there is no break in service, no period of probation applies. Principal Specialist Psychologist In Psycho-oncology WTE
Purpose of the Role The post holder will work with the Clinical Lead of the NPPO to develop Psycho-Oncology Service within the National Children Cancer Service. They will be expected to work to provide and coordinate psychology care alongside the other principals in the service. The post holder will work within the National Paediatric Psycho-Oncology Service within the National Children Cancer Service (NCCS) providing a service to children and adolescents with cancer and their families. This service is led by a Principal Psychologist and it was launched by the minister of health in 2023 together with the CAYA Psycho-Oncology Model of care. The post holder will work directly with children and adolescents with cancer (Malignant Haematology and Oncology). Many patients will be attending long term from infancy to adolescence and the post holder will need to be able to support children across the life span, focusing on supporting both patients and families through cancer diagnosis and treatment (including end of treatment, relapse, palliation and end of life). The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas: · Supporting financial analysis and feasibility on new markets, merger & acquisition activities and business growth areas. · Conduct key financial analysis and modelling activities including: o Development of best-in-class flexible financial models in a range of contexts. This will support a range of projects including refinancing, valuations, project finance, public private partnership bids, and post investment reviews. o Reviewing externally produced (e.g. sell-side) financial models to assess the sensitivity of input assumptions and apply additional assumptions. o Leveraging the financial modelling work performed to provide and present to the senior management team the strategic, financial, transactional and commercial conclusions reached in relation to business cases. · Supporting transaction negotiations and structuring documentation with advisors and development partners including contract development, tender documents and proposals. · Assisting deal structuring and due diligence workstreams associated with all stages of a growth project process. · Project management support for key activities and workstreams at all stages of the acquisitions process.
