Apprenticeship Overview This is an entry-level Electrical Apprenticeship and Trainee ATEX Inspector role. Successful candidates will be enrolled in an apprenticeship programme designed to develop the skills, experience and competencies required to become a qualified electrician and ATEX Inspector. During the apprenticeship, you will receive a combination of: • Classroom-based education • Paid on-the-job training • Structured mentoring from experienced inspectors and engineers • Practical exposure to real industrial environments Apprentices will receive training in the: • Installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of wiring systems for industrial applications • Inspection of electrical equipment in non-hazardous areas • Inspection and verification of equipment and installations in potentially explosive atmospheres • Development of technical inspection competence, reporting skills and industry knowledge This role offers exposure to specialist industrial work that few entry-level opportunities can provide. Location and Flexibility The apprenticeship is primarily based in the Dublin and Cork areas, with work carried out throughout Ireland and, at times, further afield. Civil Engineer Apprentice
Position Summary The Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Programme is a strategic investment in nurturing and developing engineers within Glanua. Due to the success of the programme, we are looking to recruit more apprentices for the September 2026 programme. Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Programme with ATU Sligo: • 3-year programme to achieve a QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering. • Online classes every Monday from 9 am to 6 pm. • Monthly in-person labs/workshops in Sligo. • The remaining duration (Tues to Friday) is dedicated to on the job learning in Glanua. • Course includes regular college assignments and exams after Christmas. Requirements: Good attitude & willingness to learn. • Flexibility to travel to various site. • Eligibility criteria pass grade in Leaving Cert maths or have QQI level 5 (or equivalent). • Must be over 18 years of age. Day Centre Service Support Officer
Irish Wheelchair Association is committed to promoting, maintaining and adding to our diverse and inclusive work environment. The purpose of this role is to provide day to day support to the Service Coordinator in the development, operation, and expansion of person-centered services in Clonakilty, in line with the IWA standards for Community Centre Services. The person will work with the Service Coordinator and staff to achieve service goals as well as actively delivering of a range of capacity building/social and independent living skills programmes. The person will also support and assist with fundraising activities. Liaison For success in the above post there are several key relationships which must be fostered and developed. Within IWA those will be association staff, in particular the Service Coordinator and those involved in the provision of the services, as well as direct contact with IWA members. Externally it will involve liaison with the staff of the relevant voluntary and statutory organisations in the Clonakilty area. Main Duties and Responsibilities Support the implementation of the Associations standards for Community Centre Services as directed by the Service Coordinator Develop, implement and support the evaluation of a range of capacity building programmes and mainstream training programmes which respond to the clients requirements. Identify and develop opportunities in partnership with the members enabling them to increase their social participation and lead full, active, and independent lives in their own communities Support the Service Coordinator in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the operation of the services Accompany and support members on annual holidays, outings, social and day trips as required by Service Coordinator and provide personal care while in attendance at services Ensure that your responsibilities to safeguard children and adults from abuse or harm is a core aspect of your role and that IWA’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
