Applications are invited for the following:- Social Care Leader / Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) – Ref: 38/2025 Permanent Full-Time (39 / 37.5 hours per week) Adult Respite Services, Garrettstown, Co. Cork AIM OF SERVICE AREA The aim of Respite Service is to provide planned care throughout the year which supports a family in the continued care and development of their adult with an intellectual disability. Meaningful activities are provided in an environment which is both stimulating and relaxing according to the individual needs for a safe and pleasant stay away from home. Services need to be flexible in the range of supports offered to families to meet their needs. The Respite Services Manager will be responsible for planning and developing a range of Respite Services. The Purpose The person/s appointed shall ensure that the vision is delivered through our core values of Person Centred Service. Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, national Legislation including Health Act 2007 and H.I.Q.A. regulations The normal working hours will be 39/37.5 hours per week (depending on qualification) however, flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and nights are involved. The person/s appointed shall, as well as partaking on the roster be responsible for the day-to-day management of the respite home reflecting the ethos and vision of the Brothers of Charity, operating within agreed policies and procedures and ensuring that the individual needs of person supported are being met by all workers therein. As a leader of the Respite Service team, the postholder will ensure that the interests of each person supported are paramount in discussions. Ongoing efforts by all staff to source and develop opportunities, for participation within the local community is expected. Reporting to the Service Manager / Person In Charge (PIC) Professional Qualifications and Experience etc. Candidates must Possess a level 7 in Social Care plus a level 8 or higher in health or management related 3rd level qualification on the Quality & Qualifications (QQI) framework. OR Possess a level 8 social care qualification recognised by the Social Care Worker Registration Board, CORU OR Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered OR Must be eligible for registration on the Social Care Workers registration board with CORU from November 2023, must obtain such registration by November 2025 and must maintain such registration for the duration of employment in this role AND For CNM1 / Social Care Leader grade have at least 3 years post registration fulltime experience (or an aggregate of 3 years post registration full time experience) of which 1 year post registration full time experience (or an aggregate of 1 years post registration full time experience) must be in the residential services supporting people with Intellectual Disability or related area AND Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role AND Candidates must demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development If a qualified nurse maintain live annual registration in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) - An Bórd Altranais Have a suitable standard of professional attainments Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office) Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems for the social care worker post/s Post graduate training in Positive Behaviour Support is desirable Must have a full clean Driver’s licence which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads as driving service vehicles is a requirement for the role. Age The Public Service Superannuation (Age of Retirement) Act, 2018* set 70 years as the compulsory retirement age for public servants. * Public Servants not affected by this legislation: Public servants recruited between 1 April 2004 and 31 December 2012 (new entrants) have no compulsory retirement age. Public servants recruited since 1 January 2013 are members of the Single Pension Scheme and have a compulsory retirement age of 70. 3. Health Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 4. Provision of administrative support to Elected Members including the receipt and distribution of all mail and messages. 19. Responsible for the ordering and maintenance of all stationery stock and supplies for Member Services, including Elected Members’ business cards, headed notepaper and rubber stamps. 20. Research queries relating to Council and Committee Meetings, and signpost accordingly, as requested by Members and senior officers including providing assistance with enquiries received via the Council’s Website. 21. Ensure that all documents are recorded, retained and disposed of in accordance with Council Policy. 22. Ensure that a record of Members’ Declarations of Interest is maintained in accordance with legislation. 23. Provide Elected Members with a record of their attendance at meetings. Systems 24. Responsible for the operation of the Council’s Committee management system (Decision Time) including the management of users, upload and maintenance of documents and appropriate handling of confidential material. 25. Responsible for the creation and operation of cloud-based video conferencing services to enable fully remote or hybrid Council, Committee, Working Groups, other official and ad-hoc meetings to be held in accordance with remote meeting legislation. 26. Responsible for the operation of the Chamber conference system during all meetings and management of users of the system as well as problem solving any technical issues as they arise. Audit/Finance 27. Responsible for verification and processing of Members’ expense claims for approval using Transfare system. 28. Responsible for generating and processing Purchase Orders and invoices for goods and services as required using Integra system. 29. Responsible for processing payments for approval using the Council’s Corporate Credit Card and completion of the appropriate documentation to be vouched against corresponding debits on credit card statements. General Administration 30. Provide a comprehensive research and collation service as requested, in relation to Freedom of Information requests received, to enable a response within the statutory deadlines. 31. Liaise with representatives of Government Departments, Statutory Agencies and other External Bodies, Directors, Senior Officers and members of the public on a daily basis. 32. Deputise in the absence of the Democratic Services Manager as required. 33. Assist in the identification of efficiency savings within the Member Services Unit. 34. Undertake other relevant duties and special projects as requested by Strategic Directors and the Democratic Services Manager e.g. Local Government Elections, International Women’s Day, Local Democracy Week. 35. Ensure that all statutes, laws, rules and regulations pertaining to burials are strictly followed and report any breach of the regulations. 8. Responsible for all interments, the setting out of all grave spaces and ensuring that the correct grave spaces are prepared and closed as necessary. 9. Ensure that all corteges are properly received and accompanied, where necessary, to the appropriate site and assist if required at interments. 10. Deal with enquiries, complaints and phone calls from internal and external clients including public bodies. 11. Take out of hours calls from funeral directors; deal with out of hours callers. 12. Liaise with line management and advise regarding letters and enquiries received. 13. Meet members of the public on site, locate graves, and deal with enquiries of a sensitive nature before and after burial. 14. Liaise with monumental masons to ensure that the specification as per application is being properly carried out. 15. Responsible for reporting matters relating to the maintenance of all buildings and structures in the cemeteries. 16.
