Qualifications · Level 5 or higher in Social Care, Disability Studies or similar qualification with a view to undertake additional studies supported by L’Arche if necessary. · Experience of working in a ‘high support’ environment while supporting people whose behaviour is described as sometimes challenging. · Experience of working with people with a intellectual disability and/or Autism · Experience in implementing behavioural interventions. To effectively implement appropriate assessment and intervention methods. · A working knowledge of New Directions, Health and Safety regulations, knowledge of HIQA standards and requirements. · Fluent English and excellent communication skills. · Effective communication skills, computer literacy skills including the use of Microsoft Office would be a distinct advantage · To be aware of health and safety responsibilities, taking all possible steps to ensure a safe working environment, and reporting all incidents and potential hazards.
