The Radiology Department of University Hospital Kerry, provides a diagnostic imaging service to the following areas / users: · In-Patients including ICU//CCU · Out-Patients · Emergency Department · Medical Assessment Unit · Orthopaedic Theatre · GP’s · Dialysis, Oncology Dept., Palliative Care Dept. Cardiology Dept The department also provides: · General radiography services including portables, Theatre Radiography, C.T., Dental, and Ultrasound · Fluoroscopy including Barium Enemas, Barium Swallow, HCG, Video Swallow and IR · Two 24-hour emergency ‘on-call’ services for both general radiography and CT to hospital in-patients and the Emergency Department Approximately 85,000 examinations per year are performed in the Radiology Department.

Radiography Services in UHK provides HSE diagnostic radiology services to Kerry, North Cork and border-line areas county Limerick- a demand driven department providing General, Dental Radiography services, CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Dexa, Theatre, IR Radiography, mobile units including In-patients, Out-patients, Emergency Department, AMAU, ICU/CCU/SCBU, Paediatric referrals, Oncology patients, and GP Referrals. High quality service deliverance with the implementation of NIMIS /PACS and with state of the art digital radiography X-Ray rooms and CR systems. A 24-hour emergency ‘on-call’ service is provided including CT and General/Trauma Radiography. On average, 85,000 examinations per year are performed in the Radiology Department.
