Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments) Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 pro rata per annum This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations. Overview of the Post The purpose of the role is to work as a member of the team providing respite and home support services, in all Enable Ireland locations across Carlow and Kilkenny. To work with the children/young people through a person centred approach to meet their identified needs during their stay in active partnership and in line with the needs and wishes of each child and family. This post will involve week day and weekend work, sleep overs and night duty. Duties: · Create an environment, which promotes each child’s participation in terms of choice and decision-making and in which each child is enabled to reach their highest level of independence. · The candidate should display a skilled approach to clinical and therapeutic interventions to provide care across various states of health and wellbeing and promoting wellness. · The candidate should be able to work within their scope of practice, building on their professional development throughout their employment. · Be a lead clinician in assigned, allocated clinical areas of responsibility and carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post. · Be responsible for the co-ordination, assessment, planning, implementation and review of care for children according to service standards including TUSLA and HIQA regulations. · Ensure the implementation of agreed programmes of care for each child, are met in ways, which promote dignity and respect for the child. · Identify and understand the health and medical needs of each child as required and ensure their needs are met appropriately. · Work with individual children in a range of settings. At all times the staff will take the lead in ensuring the safety of the children. · Provide leadership, support, mentorship to all support staff in the provision of clinical and care support services across multiple locations. · Takes responsibility for the line management and clinical supervision of staff and student within the team/service as required. · In partnership with parents/carers/team to act as facilitator to foster links with the child’s future educators. · Identify training needs and deliver training to non-nursing staff as required. · Ensure that the care and hygiene of treatment rooms, bathroom and toileting facilities are to the highest standards. · Planning and management of bus routes and time schedules and act as bus escort in the transportation of the children to and from home as required. · Staff will be expected to display appropriate sensitivity while working closely with families and service users. · Works in accordance with Enable Ireland’s Code of Practice, Guidelines for working with Services Users and other Enable Ireland National Policies and Procedures. · In consultation with the inter/multidisciplinary team be responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of the programme of activity for each child. · Liaise with and organise Paediatric Clinics as appropriate. · Liaise with Health Care Professionals. · Ensure that equipment, toys and furniture are maintained in good order. Overall responsibility for children’s clothing and equipment, ensuring they go home in good order. Planning and Organising of Activities and Resources: · Plans and organises activities and necessary resources efficiently and effectively. · Understands the importance of time management for themselves and in particular how this translates to organising their assigned caseload. · Demonstrates the ability to arrange and schedule activities. · Deals with unexpected scenarios with persistence and flexibility to ensure the achievement of goals. · Will be accountable for regular documentation of children’s progress in their files. Essential Criteria: · A recognised validated University Degree or an equivalent qualification in Intellectual Disability Nursing/ or Children’s Nursing. · Must be registered, with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI]. · Candidates must have current eligibility to work in the state. · Full manual driving licence for within the state / jurisdiction with access to own transport. · Experience of working with children with disability. · Annual registration On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration maintained by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann). And Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to Enable Ireland. Managing and supporting the workflow created by the Maintenance programme implementation lead (planner) to ensure all assets are maintained, PM’s completed, Breakdowns attended, and department actions are supported, resolved and closed out.
