Candidates will gain experience in the the following tasks; All Mechanical Fitters apprentices will be trained in the following Working with a variety of specialised tools Working on hydraulic systems Interpreting technical drawings and diagrams Assembling new machines Dismantling, Repair/Fitting of new parts Machine wiring Electrical machine components installation Candidates should have good communication skills, work as part of a team and previous engineering experience is useful. G&G Engineering est. 1984 is a family run SME supplying a bespoke contract manufacturing service, which entails Precision metal stampings, Plastic injection moulding and Automated assemblies. The successful candidate will be working within all aspects of G&G to gain a general knowledge of the function of each process while focusing in Maintenance and high precision machining within G&G’s Toolroom/ Maintenance department. Over their 4 year apprenticeship they will gain a very broad ranging knowledge of all aspects of in-house maintenance of equipment and bench fitting as well as touching into some automation projects. The candidate must have attention to detail, an interest in working with metal and their hands, as well as the ability to work in a team and independently. A candidate must be a minimum of over the age of 16 and have passed their junior certificate to be able to become an apprentice. It would be an advantage if you did Technical graphics, Metalwork, Engineering prior, though this is not essential.
