Directorate Operations Lead, Clinical B General Manager Grade
Purpose of the Role Prior to the move to one main site in the new children’s hospital, the post holder will hold both site and pan hospital clinical services Clinical Directorate responsibilities. Site: Each site has a Site Leadership Team, which provides overall site leadership and plays a key role in the delivery of high quality clinical services which are pan hospital. The post holder will ensure safe and effective patient services delivered at all times across the site and increasing as pan hospital specialties known as clinical services. The Clinical Directorate triumvirate will manage all residual site issues whilst managing pan hospital services for the specialties within CDC. Clinical Directorate Responsibilities: The post holder will also be a member of a Clinical Directorate Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The Clinical Directorate structure has moved from managing merely site function, to managing specialties within their Directorate on a cross city or pan hospital basis. The CD triumvirate supported by each of the Specialty Management Teams (Clinical Specialty Lead or nominated Senior Consultant, Assistant Director of Nursing and Operations Manager) and supported by Business Partners from the corporate services. The post holder will also be required to contribute to the continuing implementation of the Clinical Directorate model, to the Transformation / Commissioning Programme and the Digital Health programme for the new children’s hospital working with specialty groups or cross-city generic groups. The nature of the work determines that successful execution of duties will involve the development of key relationships with members of the CHI Executive and members of the other Clinical Directorate Teams. The triumvirate Senior Leadership Teams will embed a collegial leadership approach, where the team focus is child centred, viewed through the further development of multi-professional and interdisciplinary teams. The Directorate Operations Lead will also work closely with the Deputy Chief Executive / Director of Operations, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Director of Nursing who will provide key support and direction to the clinical services site and cross-city programmes. Likewise working with the Director of Quality, Patient Safety and Risk management the triumvirate teams will ensure robust quality, patient safety and risk management system and processes are in place and mitigated. Directorate Operations Lead: The primary purpose of the role is to plan, develop, organise and manage the delivery of operational clinical services to and for all patients within their Directorate. The Directorate Operations Lead works within the directorate Senior Leadership Team to drive adoption and adherence to the CHI clinical directorate quality, patient safety and risk management systems through new ways of working, striving always to achieve the best clinical outcomes and experiences for children, young people and their families. This post will develop strategic partnerships, where appropriate, to improve access to quality paediatric services at a regional and national level. Qualifications: • A primary academic award in Business, Finance, HR or other related discipline at level 8 (or higher) on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or its equivalent.
