Job Description Programme Details There are three graduate placements available on the Fáilte Ireland Graduate Programme, which include rotations in areas such as the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, Business Tourism . Placements will be based in the relevant regional offices aligned to programme teams. Successful candidates will be expected to work regularly from their designated base office, attend required in-person team meetings, and engage with stakeholders both within the office and at other locations as necessary. This will include travel within the destination area to support required industry activities. Successful graduates will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team, contributing to a wide range of meaningful projects. Through hands-on tasks and stimulating challenges, they will continuously build their skills and confidence as they begin their career in tourism. Each graduate will be supported by a dedicated mentor throughout the placement, gaining invaluable, real-world experience in the tourism sector and the opportunity to bring their own ideas to life while applying their academic knowledge in practice. A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign from which from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled. Purpose of the post: The Peer Lead will, support the Involvement Centre Coordinator and the mental health engagement and recovery team, to set up and develop the Waterford Involvement centre, in line with, and following the model already in place in Carlow, Kilkenny and South Tipperary. This person will be a full and integral member of the Peer led Involvement Centre team, providing practical assistance in the development of this service and supporting people who access the service, helping them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey. The Peer Lead will take a lead role in embedding recovery values within the service in which they work, alongside other Recovery Champions and act as an ambassador for recovery for the HSE with external agencies and organisations. The Peer Lead will use their expertise gained through lived experience to inspire hope and recovery. They will facilitate and support information sharing to promote choice, self-determination and opportunities for connection with local communities. The Peer Lead will work to develop and grow involvement centres, making connections with other colleagues within mental health services, supporting volunteers and working under the supervision of their line manager. The Peer Lead will also develop links with the community mental health teams the new crisis resolution service, which includes the Solas community café team, to support them further on their recovery journey. The HSE Model of Care for Crisis Resolution Services includes, the development of Solas community Café team, operating in a non-clinical safe environment, providing an out of hours service aimed at preventing crises and offering support during evenings and weekends. BACKGROUND Lismore Castle has been the Irish home of the family of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire since 1753. Lord and Lady Burlington, the Duke and Duchess’ son and daughter-in –law, currently lead the Devonshire Family’s interest in the Estate. The Castle is situated above the River Blackwater in the Heritage town of Lismore, County Waterford. The garden has been an inspiration to writers and artists for centuries and it is said to be the oldest continually cultivated garden in Ireland. Lismore’s rich and varied history is reflected in its gardens, which are enjoyed by our garden visitors every year. Surrounded by ancient defensive walls and turrets, the garden covers approximately ten acres, incorporating: • Extensive herbaceous borders orchard, fruit cage, lawns, wild meadow and mature trees • A spring garden featuring camellias, rhododendrons, and magnolias • A kitchen garden that provides vegetables, soft fruit and cut flowers for the Castle year round • A recently restored original Paxton Vinery • Polytunnels for plant propagation and plant production for sale to visitors • A proximity to Ireland’s Southern coast ensuring a comparatively mild climate in winter and superb growing conditions.
