Medical Scientist, Biochemistry
Purpose of the Role The purpose of this post is to support the delivery of a quality laboratory service in compliance with the requirements of international standard ISO 15189 in the Biochemistry laboratory. The post holder is required to perform a broad range of scientific work in the laboratory under the supervision of senior colleagues. She/he will carry out routine analyses, participate in implementing new methods and will actively participate in the laboratory quality management system. General Operative
SECTION 1: THE ROLE Cork County Council invites applications from suitably qualified persons, who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which permanent and seasonal vacancies for General Operative may be filled. Positions may arise in any area of the Council’s function areas which include Roads, Housing and Environment. The duties will be of a general, manual, or related nature and as may be determined by the local authority. The person/s appointed will work under the direction and control of the Senior Executive Engineer, District Supervisor or General Services Supervisor or other officer designated by the Director of Services or the Chief Executive. SECTION 2: DUTIES The duties may include but are not limited to the following and the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him/her from time to time. Roads: SECTION 4: TENURE The position could be permanent or seasonal and is full-time. The post is pensionable. Panels may be formed to fill permanent and seasonal vacancies for General Operative which may arise during the lifetime of the panels. SECTION 5: SALARY The Salary scale for the post is: €684.25 – €765.29 basic per week (1st August 2025 rates).
