The Post The post is whole-time and pensionable. A panel will be formed for an initial period of one year and this may be extended for a further year at the discretion of the Chief Executive. The panel will be used to fill both permanent and temporary positions that may arise for its duration. Vacancies will be offered in order of merit as per the panel. The post holder shall not engage in any gainful occupation, other than as an employee of a local authority, to such an extent as to impair the performance of his or her duties as an employee of a local authority or in any occupation which might conflict with the interests of the local authority, or which might be inconsistent with the discharge of his duties as a local authority employee. 2. Salary The salary shall be fully inclusive and shall be as determined from time to time. Continually reassess the operational risks inherent in the business, taking account o changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices and any impact of management restructures / new technology. - By addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and or the appropriate department / function. 5. OTHER INFORMATION In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required from time to time to perform other duties as deemed reasonable and necessary by the employer. The job holder may also be required from time to time to work or attend training/meetings at another location. As much notice as is reasonably practicable will be given of any such requirement/ change. Given the nature of our organisation, employees may request or be required, depending on their role and agreement of management, to work in a more flexible manner and occasionally outside of their normal/standard working hours. Employees are responsible for notifying their manager in writing of any statutory rest period or break to which they are entitled to and were not able to avail of on a particular occasion and the reason for not availing of such rest period or break within one week. 7. EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS TO UNDERTAKE THE ROLE AT A FULLY ACCEPTABLE LEVEL Essential Education • Minimum Leaving Certificate level Experience • At least 3 years in a customer facing retail environment • Experience of managing / working with a diverse team of people • Experience of working with sales and meeting targets • Experience of independent working and also working as part of a team • Experience of providing and analyzing sales reports Skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, in individual and group situations • An ability to establish and foster excellent working relationships with many different people across different functions and locations. • Excellent organization skills • Competent in IT packages – Excel, Word, EPOS, Microsoft 365 • A positive outlook with resilience and persistence in the face of barriers andsetbacks. • An ability to display empathy, patience and a well-developed sense of humor.
