Tenure: The post is permanent, part-time and pensionable. Persons who become pensionable employees of a Local Authority who are liable to pay the Class A rate of PRSI contribution will be required in respect of their superannuation to contribute to the Local Authority at the rate of 1.5% of their pensionable remuneration plus 3.5% of net pensionable remuneration (i.e. pensionable remuneration less twice the annual rate of social insurance old age contributory pension payable at the maximum rate to a person with no adult dependent or qualified children). Probation: Where a person who is not already a permanent employee of Wexford County Council is appointed, the following provisions shall apply: (a) there shall be a period after such appointment takes effect during which such person shall hold such employment on probation; (b) such period shall be 6 months, but the Chief Executive may, at his discretion, extend such period; (c) such person shall cease to hold such employment at the end of the period of probation, unless during such period the Chief Executive has certified that the service of such person is satisfactory. 3. Hourly Remuneration: The hourly rate of pay is €19.28. The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy . 4. Before taking up duty the Warden will be required to undergo training and for that purpose may be required to attend at the Garda Station. 5. Employment is for every school day, normally five days (Monday to Friday) of each week (approximately 35 minutes in the morning and approximately 1 hour 20 minutes in the afternoon), excluding school holidays. 6. The person appointed will be entitled to paid sick leave, in accordance with the Council’s policy on sick leave for Employees. 7. The annual leave entitlement will be 8% of hours worked for each school year, payable in July. 8. The person appointed shall work under the general direction of the appropriate Director of Services, or any employee designated by the appropriate Director of Services. 9. The person appointed shall undergo such training as may be decided by the Local Authority from time to time. 10. The person appointed shall wear the uniform and clothing provided by the Council at all times while on duty. 11. Health: For the purpose of satisfying the requirement as to health, it will be necessary for successful candidates, before being appointed, to undergo at their expense, a medical examination by a qualified medical practitioner to be nominated by the local authority. Defects reported as a result of this examination must be remedied before appointment. On taking up appointment, the expense of the medical examination will be refunded to the candidate. 12. Retirement/Superannuation: Single Public Service Pension Scheme : Effective from 1st January 2013, The Single Public Service Scheme applies to all first-time new entrants to the public service, as well as to former public servants returning to the public service after a break of more than 26 weeks. All new entrants to pensionable public service employment on or after 1 January 2013 are, in general, members of the Single Scheme. Pension Age: Minimum pension age of 66 years (rising to 67 and 68 in line with State Pension age changes). Scheme Members must retire at the age of 70 years. New entrants to the public service appointed on or after 1st April, 2004. Retirement Age will be determined by the terms of the Public Service Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2004. The Act introduces new retirement provisions for new entrants to the public service appointed on or after 1st April, 2004. For new entrants there is no compulsory retirement age and 65 is the earliest age at which retirement benefits can be paid. In all other cases, 60 years is the minimum retirement age, with 70 years being the maximum retirement age. 13. Residence: The holder of the post shall reside in the district in which his or her duties are to be performed, or within a reasonable distance thereof.

Wexford General Hospital are currently recruiting for a Senior Physiotherapist in Cardiac Rehabilitation The successful candidate will be based in Ely Hospital and Wexford General Hospital Cardiac Rehab & Cardiology Service with the goal to optimise patients’ health and function while also aiding patient flow through the understanding and development of patient pathways. The focus is on providing an end-to-end pathway that will reduce admissions to acute hospitals by providing access to diagnostics and specialist services in a timely manner. For patients who require hospital admission, the emphasis is on minimising the hospital length of stay, with the provision of post-discharge follow up and support for people in the community and in their own homes, where required. A shared local governance structure across the local acute hospitals and the associated CHO will ensure the development of a fully integrated service and end-to-end pathway for individuals living with chronic disease. The role of the Senior Cardiac Rehabilitation Physiotherapist based in the acute services will be to work closely with existing services at the local level to provide a cardiac rehab program. The successful candidate will work closely with the nursing team for cardiac rehabilitation and community cardiology services to support & integrate the service with ambulatory care between the hospital and community services. The post holder will work with colleagues across these services to develop and implement ambulatory care pathways and to manage cardiovascular disease, and associated co-morbidities, within the community setting, where appropriate. The Cardiac Rehabilitation/ Cardiology Service in Wexford General Hospital will support: · A holistic, multidisciplinary approach to the care of individuals with chronic cardiovascular disease. · Provision of an outpatient service that utilises telehealth and other ICT measures to facilitate more effective and efficient delivery of care. · Reduced waiting times for patients for hospital-based outpatient services. · Timely access to specialist services and specialist opinion for patients with cardiovascular disease. · Early intervention pathways/ rapid access clinics for acute, chronic or newly presenting cardiovascular conditions; either as an inpatient or within the cardiac rehabilitation programme as outpatient service Phase 3. · Development of pathways for the acute and integrated care management of chronic conditions. · Provision of oversight and implementation of self-management support services for chronic cardiovascular disease, including cardiac rehabilitation · Providing improved integration of early discharge, outreach and potentially admission avoidance programmes. The role The post of CNM 2 Discharge Co-ordinator has a pivotal role in the effective co-ordination of patient discharges throughout the hospital and will provide leadership and co-ordination to the wards and specialty teams with regard to patient discharge across Wexford General Hospital, including stepdown and egress beds as required.
