The Project Manager serves as the primary contact for clients and will lead a multidisciplinary team from various Almac departments to meet client requirements. Supported by a Project Coordinator, the Project Manager will be assigned to multiple projects overseeing multiple Client accounts. Almac Pharma Services has three distinct project management groups, each specialising in different business areas: Pharmaceutical Development : This group focuses on the early stages of drug development, including formulation, clinical trial material manufacturing, and analytical services. They ensure that new pharmaceutical products are developed efficiently and meet regulatory standards. Packaging Process Validation : This team specialises in validating packaging processes to ensure that products are safely and securely packaged. One is Formulation Development which involves a Scientist designing and manufacturing pharmaceutical formulations by combining a drug with excipients to create a final product such as a tablet or capsule. The formulations are optimised for stability, bioavailability and processability to ensure the drug delivers its intended effect safely and effectively. The second part of the Formulation Department contains a Technical Support team involved in the writing of Master Batch Records. A Technical Writer creates clear, concise batch records to allow the manufacture of pharmaceutical products and is also involved in data checking results from development studies. Shift Lead
Salary: Scale 6 SCP 20-24 £32,597-£35,412 per annum; plus, shift allowance and weekend enhancement may be earned. Hours: Post 1: 32 hours per week x1 Post 2: 22.5 hours per week x2 See rota attached. The post holder will be required to work outside normal hours including Bank Holidays, evenings and weekends. Duration: Post 1: Temporary until 31 March 2026, maybe extended Post 2: Permanent The Council may retain a list of reserve candidates arising from this recruitment for any vacancies which may arise that are the same or similar and are of an equal grade of pay throughout the Council area. Such a reserve list will be compiled and held for a period of 12 months. JOB PURPOSE: Committing to the one-team ethos, you will be flexible and collaborative, and you will actively support all colleagues and other activities necessary to deliver the service objectives. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for supervising the team in the delivery of an excellent customer experience. You will engage positively with staff and customers, understanding and meeting their needs as appropriate. Under direction, you will assist the Duty Manager in the day-to-day performance of the Centre, the management of the teams, and the implementation of the Service Plan. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in supervising the Centre, ensuring the adequate resourcing and efficient use of staff and resources in operating, developing and promoting the facilities. Support the Duty Manager by supervising the team on duty, positively contributing to wellbeing and high levels of employee engagement. Participate in training and development of staff to ensure sufficient skills, capacity and knowledge within the service. Deliver induction training for new staff. Supervise work placements. Support the Duty Manager in ensuring that staff operate within Council policies and procedures. Support the Duty Manager in ensuring that staff deliver their agreed performance targets. Assist in ensuring that staff work in a corporate and collaborative way with other services and departments. Supervise staff to ensure a continuous improvement culture. Assist in the implementation and delivery of Service Plans. Participate in updating and implementing all Normal Operating Procedures and Operating Standards, Emergency Action Plans, Technical Operating Procedures (equipment and plant operating instructions) and health and safety systems (risk assessments, etc.), ensuring compliance with Council policy and that regulatory standards and checks and records are in place. Assist in ensuring that all equipment, plant and operational procedures are in safe operation, taking all necessary actions to manage failures/breakdowns. Assist in implementing health & safety and safeguarding systems at the Centre. Liaise with customers, deal with any appropriate incidents, accidents, complaints or queries and escalate as required. Liaise with contractors whilst on site. Promote and/or sell all products and activities within the Centre and within the Leisure Services portfolio Be flexible and collaborative and actively support all colleagues and other activities or processes which impact on the performance of the Centre. Please note: Employees must remain on site for the duration of all breaks which may be interrupted due to the requirements of the service. Paid meal breaks are normally of half-hour duration. The timing of such breaks will be determined by operational requirements. Employees will be reimbursed this time. Qualifications and Training: • Hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent. Or • Achieve within 12 weeks of commencement in the post; failure to achieve will result in withdrawal from the post. Experience: • One year’s experience of working in a Leisure environment, to include all of the following: ▪ Supervision of Leisure facilities; ▪ Identifying and resolving service delivery issues and implementing improvements to services; ▪ Persuading/influencing and implementing change. Key Skills, Knowledge and Attributes: • Ability to influence positive behaviours/change in others; • Effective verbal and written communication skills; • Ability to keep accurate records; • Excellent planning and organisational skills; • Effective customer care skills; • Understanding of health and safety requirements; • Flexible approach to work demands.
