Údarás na Gaeltachta has announced an enhanced Apprenticeship Scholarship Scheme to assist Gaeltacht communities impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. 50 apprenticeship scholarships worth more than €2,000 per scholarship are available to assist people who wish to learn a trade or undertake a new career. Despite the uncertainty created by the Coronavirus emergency, Údarás na Gaeltachta is offering people the opportunity to learn a new skill/trade or upskill and obtain an apprenticeship qualification recognised by the national Apprenticeship Council. Qualifications are awarded at Level 6 upwards to degree standard in accordance with the national training framework Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI). The Gaeltacht community can apply to undertake apprenticeships from 55 different apprenticeships under 12 varied sectors, all recognised by SOLAS, as part of the Scholarship Scheme being offered by Údarás na Gaeltachta.
