Duties extends to stakeholder communications relevant to the registration of services. The post holder will be responsible for the business management of the directorate in line with legislation and corporate policies and objectives as set out in HIQA’s Corporate Plan and Business Plans. The role will form part of the Regulation Directorate’s senior management team. The post holder will effectively support and ensure the delivery of the regulatory functions in healthcare, children’s services and adult social care services in Ireland in line with best practice business principles, the relevant legislation (including the Health Act 2007 as amended), its associated regulations and nationally mandated standards. The post holder will have overall accountability and responsibility for the effective business performance management of the HIQA’s regulation directorate, working within HIQA’s established planning and performance frameworks. In conjunction with other senior posts within HIQA the post-holder will be responsible for leading and driving continuous improvement in HIQA’s regulatory business functions to ensure that it is risk-based, proportionate and responsive and makes the best use of available resources. This is particularly important as HIQA’s regulatory functions continuing to develop and expand in the coming years and within a challenging fiscal environment.
