Enable Ireland is an organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of children and adults with disabilities in Ireland, and is named as one of Ireland's Irish Independent 150 Best Employers 2023 We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Psychologist (Staff Grade) to join our team in CHO1 Cavan Contract Type: Permanent Full Time Contract Hours: 35 hours per week Salary Scale: €57,549 to €90,771 pro rata per annum “This pay scale is subject to increases in 2024 in accordance with the recent WRC interim agreement (Ref CAM -100101-22) towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.” Overview of the Post: To provide a range of psychological services to children 0 – 18 years on the Early Years / School Age Team and their families who attend the Cavan Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT), within an interdisciplinary framework and family centred practice and to support other staff and students as assigned. You will join a team of Psychologists working as part of an interdisciplinary team. There is a strong focus on intervention within the team. You will have access to regular clinical supervision from a Senior Psychologist. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: • Work as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide an integrated and co- ordinated service to children and their families. • Provide reports and information to relevant others, refer to other professionals; liaise with schools and other external agencies as appropriate.  • Apply and develop caseload management procedures including prioritization • Engage and articulate reflection and evaluation on practice. • Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of relevant quality assurance initiatives The successful candidate will have: Essential Criteria: i. Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2ndclass  honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject And ii. Have an Irish post-graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology Or An equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. And iii. Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for. And iv. Applicants with a clinical or counselling psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings, for the area / areas for which they wish to apply - Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, Adult Psychology - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post-qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist. Note 2 . Or Applicants with an educational psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired in appropriate health settings for the area / areas for which they wish to apply - Child Disability, Child Psychology - either at least 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements as part of the professional qualification; or at least 60 days or equivalent post qualification supervised work experience as a psychologist. Note 2. Note 2 : Combinations of supervised clinical placement experience as part of the qualification and post qualification supervised work experience within a single care group area to give a total of 60 days are not acceptable. v. Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) vi. Eligible to work in the state vii. Valid Irish / EU drivers licence with access to own transport in order to deliver services across a large geographical area Desirable Criteria: • Experience of working with children and/or adolescents and their families with one or more of a range of disabilities • Knowledge and skills in the management of behaviours of concern  • Knowledge and skills in conducting diagnostic assessments in children and young people including Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities • Knowledge of HSE Progressing Disability Services Programme • Broad knowledge of Enable Ireland Services • Experience of working in a disability service • Experience of interdisciplinary team working If you believe you would fit the role then please submit your application today. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a physiotherapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities. The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children’s homes and community settings. Overview of Duties & Responsibilities: • Plans and organises activities and necessary resources efficiently and effectively. • Demonstrates sufficient clinical skills in assessment, intervention and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of the relevant caseload. • Holds an appropriate and effective set of professional values and beliefs and behaves in line with professional standards as set down by Enable Ireland and relevant professional bodies. • Collaborate with the child / young person while working in partnership with their parent/family/carer and all other relevant stakeholders to identify and achieve goals. • Demonstrates a supportive and reciprocating work style including strong empathy with the child/ young person and their parent/family/carers • To work in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team in the planning and delivery of services for children and young people, in particular in the development of child and family centred planning. The successful candidate will have: Essential Criteria: 1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience: a) Candidates for appointment must: i. Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. AND ii. Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. AND iii. Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Register Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued. 2. Annual registration i. On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. AND ii. Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland Desirable Criteria: • At least 6 months experience in working with children with disabilities • Experience in conducting Assessment of Need assessments • Experience in prescribing and monitoring equipment • Experience in provision of Hydrotherapy • Experience of working in a community based setting. • 1 year post qualification experience working in Paediatrics • Be a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. • Experience working with children and their families • Experience of a paediatric placement from undergraduate training • Demonstrate a professional reasoning and behaviour with an understanding of the role of the Therapist.  • Demonstrates knowledge of theory and practice. • Demonstrate an ability to work as part of an inter- disciplinary team • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Family Centred approach in the delivery of services to people with disabilities.  • Evidence of commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
