The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit for the following permanent position: Support Worker – Day Services Ref: 25-273-SW-CROFT-WEB Job Role: Support Worker Salary: £12.60 per hour Contract: Permanent Location: Croft Communities, Day Services, 71 Bloomfield Road, Bangor, BT20 4UR Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9:15 to 3:15pm) (Flexibility is required to ensure the needs of the service are met. Support Workers must be available to work unsociable hours and on public holidays on a rotational basis.) The Service Croft Communities Day Services provides day care and day opportunities for individuals with learning disability based in Bangor, Co Down. Day Services is registered with RQIA to provide 6 Daycare places per day within the facility. Croft Communities provide 14 Day Opportunities places per day. The Role The Support Worker is part of the Croft Communities team and the main purpose of their role is to assist in the provision of programmes of care, providing a range of varied activities to meet the assessed personal needs of individuals who attend Day Services. The support worker will work as part of the Day Services team promoting inclusion in the community and maximising independence. The role requires participation in the delivery of person-centred care, including personal care and promotion of a team approach at all times with positive and constructive working relationships for the benefit of the service user. The Service: Croft Communities provide residential support to adults with learning disabilities. The Support Worker is part of the Croft Communities team, and the main purpose of their role is to provide care and support to service users with a learning disability to enable them to live happy and fulfilled lives reaching their full potential within their local community. Mayne House is a residential service in Bangor, Co Down. Mayne House is registered with RQIA to provide residential care to 9 service users with learning disability. The service provides 24 hour tailored care. Croft Lodge is a seven-bed wheelchair friendly respite unit which provides adults with learning disabilities the opportunity to come and enjoy a break with us. This service provides 24 hour tailored care and allows main carers to avail of a break to recharge. The Role: The role of Support Worker always requires a team approach with effective working relationships for the benefit of the service user. This includes: Assist service users with activities of daily living and facilitate inclusion of service users in a broad range of activities. Support service users with identified personal care and support needs.
