Security of Supply and Wholesale Markets The CRU’s Security of Supply and Wholesale Markets Division holds a key role in protecting the interests of electricity customers and supporting the transition to a decarbonised electricity system. The Division is responsible for ensuring security of supply; making sure there is enough generation capacity to meet the needs of electricity customers, and regulating the wholesale electricity market; ensuring that the market is working efficiently in the best interests of electricity customers. Work areas are expanding with the development of new technologies and the transition to a high renewable energy power system. The Flexibility & System Services team sits in this Division. The role of the team covers a diverse area of work including and span economic, technical, legal, European and policy issues.
