Clinical Nurse Specialist/Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in Physical Disabilities and Complex Care Part-time (0.5wte) Specified Purpose Contract We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated nurse to join us as we continue to deliver high quality care to children attending CRC services. The post holder will work as part of a dedicated and innovative team providing nursing care and support alongside national specialist multidisciplinary team. S/he will demonstrate a desire to deliver a positive experience to our clients and their families, with an ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Job Purpose: The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Gastroenterology will demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge and skills to improve the quality of patient care. The post holder will support the on-going development of the Gastroenterology service and be responsible for ensuring the delivery of specialist nursing within the service. The CNS in Gastroenterology will focus primarily on patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) i.e. Crohns Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). The number of patients currently accessing the IBD service at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital is >1600, and this number is rapidly expanding. The CNS co-ordinates care and will liaise between patients, families and the multidisciplinary team. Telephone and email advice may be given to clients on how to manage their condition and also providing rapid access to OPD. Individual cases are discussed at the bi-monthly multi-disciplinary team meetings and a monthly combined Medical/Surgical IBD Clinics, where treatment plans are devised.
