The Neurology Department at GUH have 4.46 WTE Neurology Consultants providing an inpatient, day case, outpatients and consults type service. There are 4.5 WTE Neurology ANP/CNS/CNM’s who provide a service to the various neurology patient types in outpatients, day ward and inpatient wards: The CNM2 Neurology – Headache Disorders service will focus on the management of symptoms and encourage patients to identify possible triggering factors and implement lifestyle modifications, which may help limit or reduce attacks and ultimately improve quality of life. The neurology service is a team of healthcare professionals that deliver care to patients with neurological conditions, the CNM2. Neurology – Headache Disorders will be a member of the team and as such is expected to support the neurology service in service delivery. There is currently one specified purpose, whole time post available until 31st December 2020. The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises A panel may be created for Clinical Nurse Manager 2, Neurology – Headache Disorders, Galway University Hospitals from which current and future specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled. In addition, the postholder has a vision and the ambition to build up an own research line. Job Description: The successful candidate will be develop a research line on the operation and optimisation of process monitoring and control of anaerobic wastewater treatment systems, ideally to upgrade the biogas so that the methane can be injected in the natural gas grid.
