Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Toolmaker to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience and technical expertise in precision machining, CNC programming, and toolmaking. The apprenticeship follows the official SOLAS Toolmaking Apprenticeship Programme, leading to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Toolmaking. Responsibilities: • Learn to interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Operate and set up CNC and manual machining equipment. • Assist in the manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance of precision tools, jigs, and fixtures. • Develop skills in metal cutting, grinding, milling, and turning. • Work under the guidance of experienced toolmakers to enhance knowledge and skills. • Maintain high standards of quality and safety in all tasks. Requirements: • A keen interest in engineering, manufacturing, and precision machining. • Minimum Junior Certificate (or equivalent); Leaving Certificate with technical subjects is an advantage. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude. • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
