Procurement Officer

The postholder will provide professional procurement advice, support and training to ensure a consistent approach to procurement throughout Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. The postholder will be responsible for providing professional support across all areas of procurement, ensuring compliance with legislation, delivery of organisational policies, achieving and assisting with service improvements, and working closely with Council Senior Managers to develop optimum sourcing options, ensuring value for money is achieved through procurement best practice. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council. Only application forms containing all the information which has been sought will be considered. The shortlisting panel will base shortlisting decisions on the information contained within the Essential Criteria narrative sections of the application form, however Desirable Criteria may be used. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide sufficient relevant information including dates in this section of the form for each criteria. A reserve list may be established in order to fill future permanent and temporary posts that may arise for another similar vacancy within the following 12 months.

About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate and professional individual, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment to join our Customer Care Team as a Customer Care Specialist based in Listowel, Co Kerry The ideal candidate will be able to converse fluently in English, but knowledge of the French language would also be an advantage, however not essential.  The Customer Care Specialist acts as the key contact between the customer and the company and will be responsive to customer's requirements at all times, (both internal and external) and resolve customer queries quickly and will direct their efforts to maximise the customer experience. The role is based in Listowel, Ireland and will require full attendance for the training period over a number of weeks, the role will then become a hybrid role, working from the office 3 out of 5 days a week.
