Duties and Responsibilities The Staff Officer is a support or supervisory position within the Council and may be assigned responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a work area, section or team. The Staff Officer works as part of a team, supporting managers and colleagues to meet work goals and objectives and to deliver quality services to internal and external customers. The following is a non-exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities which may be assigned: Particulars of Office1. The Post A panel will be formed for an initial period of one year and may be extended for a further year at the discretion of the Chief Executive. The panel may be used to fill permanent and fixed-term positions arising during its duration. Vacancies will be offered in order of merit from the panel and may arise on a county-wide basis. Westmeath County Council reserves the right to assign employees to any work location, having regard to funding and operational requirements. 2. Salary The current salary scale for the post of Staff Officer is €52,761 - €63,109 per annum (including Long Service Increments), in accordance with Circular EL 04/2026. Payment of increments is dependent on satisfactory performance. The entry point on the salary scale will be determined in accordance with Circulars issued by the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government. New entrants to the Local Authority Service will commence on the first point of the scale in accordance with current Government policy as set out in Department of the Environment Circular Letter EL 02/2011 dated 28 January 2011 and Circular EL 05/2016 dated 5 February 2016. Remuneration is paid fortnightly by PayPath directly to the employee's nominated bank account. The current pay cycle may be revised during the period of employment. Remuneration is subject to all statutory deductions, including PAYE and PRSI. Increments are paid annually subject to satisfactory attendance, conduct, performance and national agreements. Increments may be withheld where performance, attendance and/or conduct are not satisfactory. In the event of an overpayment of salary or other monies, the Council reserves the right to deduct monies from wages, in accordance with the Payment of Wages Act 1991, Section 5(5), for the purpose of reimbursing the Council for the amount of the overpayment.
Executive Architectural Conservation Officer
Clare County Council is currently inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the above competition - Executive Architectural Conservation Officer from which future relevant vacancies may be filled subject to sanction approval from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. The Executive Architectural Conservation Officer is responsible for managing elements of the Planning Department and providing a range of services to Local Authorities. The Architectural Conservation Officer is required to play a central role in protecting, promoting, and harnessing the potential of the architectural heritage and archaeology of the County, implementing Part IV of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) through providing advice on architectural and archaeological heritage matters relating to planning applications and plans and strategies. Reporting to the assigned line manager, the Executive Architectural Conservation Officer will be responsible for the efficient management of their prescribed work area within the conservation or related function. Managers at this level work within defined parameters relevant to the position, in accordance with the Local Authority’s vision and objectives. The Executive Architectural Conservation Officer will be required to work closely with elected Councillors to deliver the full range of services and implement local policy decisions. Delivery of efficient services and value for money is crucial. Executive Architectural Conservation Officer positions are multi-faceted and may include some or all of the following key service areas within the Local Authority: Essential Criteria 1. Character Each candidate must be of good character. 2. Health Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 3. Education, Training, Experience, etc. Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms: (a) hold a recognised qualification at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications developed by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland under the Qualifications (Education and Training) Act 1999 in a technical discipline related to the built environment including but not limited to architecture, structural engineering, building surveying or spatial planning OR a qualification at NFQ Level 8 in which the historic built environment was a major subject including but not limited to archaeology, history of art or architectural conservation OR a postgraduate qualification at NFQ Levels 9 or 10 in which the historic built environment was a major subject, AND (b) After attaining the qualification referred to at (a) above, have five years’ satisfactory experience relevant to the post (or four years for registered architects), AND (c) Have a satisfactory knowledge of architectural heritage, design and conservation, strategic planning and urban design, and the legal framework governing architectural conservation and planning, AND (d) possess a high standard of technical training and experience appropriate to the nature of the work undertaken, including administrative experience, and have a satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation.

Clare Library Service is headquartered in Ennis and manages and supports a network including the Local Studies Centre and fifteen public libraries strategically located across the county. About the Role We are looking for a Vehicle Supply Administrator to play a central, hand-on role in ensuring our vehicle supply and production chain flows smoothly – You will support the Vehicle Supply Manager from coordinating sourced vehicle intake, organising inspections and maintenance to tracking vehicles progression through the conversion and preparation process, ensuring vehicles are to the highest quality for disabled drivers and passenger’s needs. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Sourcing and Supply: - Liaise with dealerships and suppliers to confirm vehicle availability, arrival and updates /discrepancies for check-in. - Maintain accurate records and paperwork of all incoming vehicles. Stock Management and Coordination: - Track vehicles from order through to arrival and readiness for sale. - Manage vehicle allocation and availability status within internal systems. - Carryout monthly stock and registration check and raise issues with management if applicable.
