POSITION SUMMARY: Jigsaw clinicians offer short-term therapeutic supports to young people aged 12-25 years who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This usually involves 1:1 work with the young person and sometimes it can include other family members as well. Our clinicians come from diverse professional backgrounds encompassing qualifications in social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, clinical/counselling/educational psychology, and psychotherapy, and they work as part of transdisciplinary teams based at one of our 15 services across the country. All of our clinicians share the same scope of practice to support the goals of our young people in a collaborative, respectful, and evidence-informed manner while drawing on their own unique training, experience, and skills. Additionally, clinicians are involved in health promotion, youth engagement, service development, and advocacy. Details of service The Public Health Nursing Service is a generalist nursing service underpinned by the principles and values of primary care and public health, including those of equity, accountability, and evidence-based nursing care, working to public policy agenda and reform. The person appointed to this post will work within the Integrated Services Directorate; working as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a coordinated approach to client care. The service is delivered within a range of settings: in the home, health centres, schools and in a variety of community settings. As pivotal team members, Public Health Nursing staff work in collaboration and partnership with other members of the primary care team and with acute / community hospital services, voluntary bodies, and statutory and non-statutory agencies. The team structure consists of the Director of Public Health Nursing, Assistant Director of Public Health Nursing, Public Health Nurses, Community Registered General Nurses, Health Care Assistants and RGN’s working in the Community Intervention Team. There are specialist Nursing posts within the Department such as Schools Nurses, Older Persons Team, Home Care Package Case Managers. The Public Health Nursing Services are provided at the level of the individual delivering personalised care includes the family and the community, focusing the collective health, well-being, social and nursing care needs of the population. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies. Purpose of the post The person appointed will carry out building and carpentry maintenance and repair works as part of a multidisciplinary team comprising of engineers, Craftworkers, general operatives and supporting contractors. To deliver a prompt, efficient cost-effective customer focused service in a team environment. Principal duties and responsibilities Professional The Maintenance Craftsman/Technician (Carpenter) will: · Assist in maintaining all HSE buildings (interior and exterior) in an outstanding condition of readiness by accomplishing timely carpentry maintenance as well as major improvements and renovations. · Be able to operate all types of woodworking equipment to include all hand and bench tools · Be accountable for all tools, and ensure stock of equipment is kept in proper state of repair in accordance with safety standards · Comply with Health and Safety legislation when performing assigned responsibilities · Be required to work mainly on their own and will be required to complete tasks associated with completing the requisitions, which may include drilling, chasing, coring, lifting floor covering, cleaning etc. · Be required to assist all other trades in the completion of small refurbishment projects and new installations · Attend to the maintenance and routine repairs of existing fitted furniture, renovations, locks, doors, PVC windows and doors, glass replacements, roofs, valleys, barges, ridge tiles, floor tiles, shower tiles, facia and soffit, gutters, and down pipes · Assist in the drawing up of planned maintenance programme in consultation with the Maintenance Foreman as required. · Carry out the installation and fabrication of fitted presses, cupboards and shelving. · Carry out first and second fixing for minor building work · Carry out fault-finding and repairs i.e., roof leaks · Carry out planned preventative maintenance programmes, equipment checks, inspections and plant operational and performance log readings as set out by the Maintenance Manager/Maintenance Foreman. · Assist where required, other trades with maintenance duties not related to carpentry, such duties will be assigned by the maintenance foremen and manager. · Be involved in concrete shuttering · Be required to carry out fire door checks and resolve any deflects in line with HSE fire door policy · Operate and carry out planned preventative maintenance programmes as set out by the Maintenance Manager or Foreman.
