Healthy Campus Coordinator
Overall role and context: This position is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive wellness program for the employees of SETU with a balanced emphasis on (e.g. fitness, nutrition, physical health, and mental/emotional health) that meets the needs of our staff over time. The role will require the successful candidate to work closely with key internal stakeholders from various functions including Human Resources, Health and Safety, Communications, and various health and wellbeing forums. An excellent opportunity for a motivated, energetic and passionate candidate to develop their skills and experience in the field of health promotion and wellbeing and to be a key part of building a "best in class" health and wellbeing function. Principal duties and responsibilities: The person appointed will have the following duties and responsibilities: • Leads a comprehensive wellness program. • Responsible for developing, planning, marketing and executing SETU-wide wellness initiatives and programs to reduce health risks and encourage healthy lifestyles. • Support and promote mental health programmes and initiatives that align with the SETU • Collaborate with the human resources department and union leadership to promote preventative health benefits. • Coordination and creation of quarterly Health and Wellbeing Newsletter. • Coordinate and chair meetings with Health and Wellbeing Committee in assessing, developing, and establishing measurable objectives and program content consistent with staff wellness interests and needs. • Establish multiple criteria, procedures, and instruments for assessing program effectiveness to staff, such as developing and disseminating an annual staff survey. • Design Health and Wellbeing content to be included at corporate inductions • To coordinate events and activities to enhance the wellbeing of Staff. • Any other duties associated with health promotion and wellbeing activities • Undertake other duties as may be agreed with the Head of Faculty or other designated officer of the University Person specification – Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills: • have obtained at least Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (higher, ordinary, applied or vocational programmes) or equivalent or have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or higher or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise • Ability to work collaboratively and supportively with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external. • Demonstrated project management and leadership experience • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and team working skills • Excellent information technology skills • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to established deadlines and develop prioritisation • A pro-active and problem-solving approach with the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines • Knowledge of a broad range of wellness and fitness topics and a commitment to wellness and the promotion of life learning. • Ability to conduct benchmarking analysis, and environment and culture assessments to aid in program development. • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to produce high quality written reports • Ability to deal with confidential information in a discreet manner • Completed Mental Health Awareness Training Hours of Work: The appointee will be required to work 18.5 hours per week together with such additional hours as may be required from time to time for the proper discharge of their duties. Salary: Pro Rata of the Senior Staff Officer Salary Scale: €56,756 - €69,339 for 0.5 post Annual Leave: 27 days annual leave. Annual Leave will be in accordance with arrangements authorised by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science from time to time.

First Year Apprentice Vacancy As a Welder Apprentice, you will learn and develop the skills required to become a proficient welder under the supervision of experienced welders and supervisors. This position provides on-the-job training, allowing you to assist in various welding projects while gaining hands-on experience in welding techniques, safety procedures, and the operation of welding equipment. The successful applicant will be trained at the Central premises as per the Solas apprenticeship programme and college attendance will also be required. Profile of Craft The Metal Fabricator’s job includes the reading of drawings, working with materials such as low carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and aluminium. The fabricator is involved in such industries as constructional steel, pressure vessel, tank and boiler manufacture, ship building and ship repair also general engineering. The skills required are wide and varied. They include skills such as measuring, marking out, cutting and welding materials using different processes and assembly techniques. The Metal Fabricator will spend some time outdoors and may be required to work on heights. At the end of the apprenticeship, the craftsperson will be able to demonstrate competence in the following skills: Core Skills Use, care and safety on the following machines and equipment: • Guillotine • Press brake • Rolls • Ironworker • Mechanical saws • Drills • Cutting • Forming • Welding Operations involve mechanical and thermal cutting, marking, drilling,notching, bending, rolling, forming and welding using various materials Pattern development Parallel line, radial line and triangulation methods Specialist Skills • Oxy-fuel gas cutting and plasma cutting • Welding processes using: Oxy-fuel; MMA; MIG/MAG; TIG/TAG • Rolling, bending and forming various materials Generic Skills Workshop practice including: • Safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment • Marking out • Drilling • Tapping • Riveting Technical drawing: • Interpretation of first and third angle projections • Isometric, oblique and free hand sketching Personal Skills • Communications • Customer relations • Adaptability • Ability to work as a team member • Ability to work independently • Initiative • Problem solving • Planning • Information gathering • Quality systems • Safety
