Desirable Requirements: • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a procurement role and a detailed knowledge of national and EU public procurement rules and regulations or work experience in a finance, compliance or other relevant corporate governance role which in the opinion of City of Dublin ETB is relevant to the post. • A recognised qualification in public procurement or have undergone comprehensive public procurement training which in the opinion of City of Dublin ETB is relevant to the post or similar experience in Finance or Supply Chain within the public (preferred) or private sector or have a degree equivalent to level 7 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications in a relevant discipline as may be considered appropriate in the discretion of City of Dublin ETB . • Significant experience in managing staff including but not limited to general staff supervision, team work scheduling, staff development and training. • Excellent administrative and IT Skills. • Have an understanding of the main features and current challenges of public service and regulatory reform. • Ability to use initiative (being self-motivated, flexible, results focused etc.) to prioritise and manage work in a dynamic and pressurised environment. • Proven record as a team-player with a flexible approach demonstrating sound judgement, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills. • Demonstrated experience of building and maintaining relationships in face-to-face meetings, verbally and in written communications in a clear and concise manner. An Cosán Community Special School is a child-centred, co-educational, multi denominational, publicly accountable school which strives to provide high quality education for every child attending. The new school will cater for an enrolment of up to 24 students when it is established and, on a phased basis, is expected to grow its capacity to provide up to 60 school places in the short to medium term, pending a new permanent school building being provided. In accordance with Section 22 of the Education Act 1988, and Section 23 of the Education (Amendment) Act 2012, the Principal provides leadership to teachers, other staff and to the pupils and the wider community. 1. NATURE OF POST: Full-time contract - 39 hours per week. 2. SALARY: The Salary attached to this post will be the Caretakers Salary Scale. Salary will be paid in accordance with such rates as may be authorised by the Minister for Education from time to time for Caretakers. 3. HEALTH: Candidate for appointment must be in good health. Prior to appointment, the successful candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment medical and submit a satisfactory certificate of health from a Doctor to be nominated by CMETB. 4. GARDA VETTING: This contract is subject to Garda Vetting and no disclosure of convictions which CMETB considers would render the appointee suitable to work with children / vulnerable persons. To manage systems which may be introduced for example, rainwater harvesting systems, on all buildings on site in order to reduce site water charges. • To organise and carry out alarm and fire testing drills, ensuring that all mechanical and electrical devices connected to the alarms, operate as required under fire and maintain records of same. • To exercise economy in the use of fuel and light throughout the building and to monitor and prevent all unauthorised use of same. • To maintain the common areas of the canteen in a clean and tidy manner. • To assist, where required, in accepting delivery, locating, unpacking, and storing of all incoming goods, recording receipts of such deliveries and notifying appropriate receiver/ officer / tutor of the delivery. • To maintain confidentiality at all times in matters relating to working in the school. • To collect and assemble waste for collection and keep waste area in a clean and tidy condition. • To be responsible for carrying out Health and Safety checks including Fire, emergency lighting and to keep accurate and up to date records under the direction of the Principal. • To maintain a safe and clean external environment e.g., gritting, sweeping and litter pick the grounds each morning. • To carry out gritting of the school’s footpaths and carparks and roadways during frost, ice and snow in advance of the school opening. • To ensure that the floors are kept dry as far as possible on wet/damp mornings • To participate in training when necessary. • To maintain a “Log of Issues” document for the school as may be requested from time to time. • To perform any other similar duties, as may be required, and generally carry out such instructions as may, from time to time, be given by the Principal / Deputy Principal, Chief Executive or Director. 6. Duties and Responsibilities The individual will bring to the role experience and expertise in the areas of teaching, quality assurance, curriculum design, assessment and accreditation. The duties and responsibilities of the post are ever evolving as the exigencies of the post require. The below outlines some of the more immediate duties and responsibilities but is not an exhaustive list. The successful candidate will: • deputise for the Youthreach Co-ordinator where required; • keep up-to-date with the main curriculum and policy developments (local, national & EU) in the area of youth education, training and development, particularly as they relate to his/her subject specialism; • agree and implement a comprehensive and relevant Campus Development Plan for the Youthreach Programme; • carry out a first-line guidance, information and/or mentoring role as defined through the ETB’s Youthreach Policy and Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Guidelines; • lead-up the delivery, review, implementation and evaluation of the Learner Mentoring Initiative on an ongoing basis; • manage the administrative aspects of the LMI in relation to attendance monitoring, scheduling of sessions, follow up with learners/parents and any other related tasks as assigned. • support staff, on an individual and group basis, in performing their respective roles re. the LMI; • facilitate LMI staff group-work sessions / meetings; • co-ordinate the mentoring strand of the LMI across the Campus, acting as mentor to a number of individual learners; • monitor, record and evaluate progress and developments re. the LMI and produce reports as required; • participate fully in the internal evaluation process as set out in the Quality Assurance Support Service and Youthreach Quality Framework; • develop and deliver a number of specific learning programmes/ courses, in line with programme and learner needs.
