Basic Pharmacy Technician
Basic Grade Pharmacy Technician – Full-time, Fixed Term (6 Months) Responsibilities: To work collaboratively with other members of the Pharmacy team and Departments in the Hospital to ensure that patient care is central to all activities of the Pharmacy Department. To be fully aware of and comply with the codes of practice of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and the Mental Health Commission. To be fully aware of and competently utilise the Pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures. To perform the following dispensary duties: · Dispense in-patient, out-patient, and staff prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist. · Co-ordinate medication ordering in a cost-efficient manner. · Co-ordinate Pharmacy and Hospital medicines management processes including stock management, orders, shortages, storage, date checking, returns and recycling. · Complete ward stock top-ups and date-checking. · Co-ordinate Out-of-hours Trolley, first aid kits, emergency trays, patients’ own medicines. · Complete Clozapine Out-Patient dispensing. · Manage over- the- counter medication sales and Pharmacy Shop. · Maintain appropriate records and paperwork including prescriptions, invoices, daily audits, DPS submissions. · Ensure compliance with Falsified Medicines Directive and associated processes. 5. To participate in continuous professional development and training. To participate in audit and quality improvement. To participate in relevant Committees eg Drug and Therapeutics. To promote medication safety and reporting of medication safety events. To be fully familiar with the terms of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act and all relevant policy documents of the Order i.e. Employee Handbook, Safety Statement, Guidelines for Investigation of Allegations of non-Accidental Injury and Abuse Essential Criteria: · Candidate must have a Pharmacy Technician qualification. · Hospital or Community Pharmacy experience is desirable, but not essential.
Basic Clinical Engineering Technician
The Basic Clinical Engineering Technician will be expected to be involved in the direct provision of Clinical Engineering Services throughout the hospital. Candidate should be a team player, and possess a strong sense of duty and responsibility and able to take direction as and when necessary ensuring service is delivered according to best practice and all current legislative safety standards and practices are adhered too.
