Senior Engineer
Building a sustainable tomorrow We are recruiting a Senior Engineer to join our new project in Galway. Your mission • Conduct your work in a safe manner – correct and take responsibility to ensure that all works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards. • Ensure work is carried out to the highest of quality standards and implement BAM’s quality control procedures and project specific procedures. • Ensure setting-out information is relevant and available in a format that can be easily communicated on site. • Ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided. • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with work colleagues and Design Teams. • Review detailed design, critique and communicate with designers to ensure adequate design is available for construction. • Coordinate the development of design from designer’s details to approved workshop drawings or technical information from subcontractors. • Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc. • Management of subcontractors/general workforce on site. • Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure program targets are achieved. • Ordering and control of materials on site. • Maintaining the site records and records of discussions/meetings with designers and subcontractors. • Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work and contractual awareness. • Follow direction as part of a team and attend meetings as required. Who are we looking for? • A third level degree in Engineering • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a site engineer • Experience working with a main contractor, subcontractor, surveying firm or similar preferred • Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations • Excellent communication skills. • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project etc. • Proactive and driven person with a strong desire to make progress backed by a strong level of construction knowledge. Building a sustainable tomorrow We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join our building team in Galway! Your mission • Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided • Review information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, so that they clearly understand what is required • Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with the relevant specifications • Quality reviews on site with regard to rebar and concrete placement • Review of technical submissions prior to upload to design team to ensure that the correct areas of work are addressed. • Overview of concrete testing and results • Directing subcontractors in some instances with regard to works to be carried out • Preparation of technical method statements • Traffic management on site, being able to coordinate works within a busy location • Record all daily activities, relevant information and occurrences in your site diary • Pursue, proactively your own development and training. (i.e. complete the work-based development programme in a timely manner) • Conduct your work in a safe manner – correct and report those who do not • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all personnel • Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment • Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work • Follow directions and attend meetings as required. At our C&D Foods site in Edgeworthstown we are currently inviting applications for the role of Reliability Engineering Manager to support our operations onsite. This role will focus on site equipment improvements in reliability and efficiencies, reducing the equipment downtimes, increasing equipment availability and reducing the cost of ownership of the equipment ultimately reducing the site cost per tonne. Key Responsibilities •Work cross functionally to develop and implement a strategic asset reliability plan supporting both corrective and preventative maintenance for your area meeting all Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability goals are met. •Lead, coach and manage a team of Area leads and PPM maintenance technicians for your plant/ to provide optimum equipment reliability to support the manufacturing operations. •Builds skills capability across the Plant technical/engineering team to engage with latest modern practices. •Provide leadership, coaching to engineering team towards implementation of Integrated Lean 6 sigma ways of working: delivering zero breakdowns via preventive/predictive maintenance strategies Including PM (Progressive Maintenance), CBM (condition-based monitoring), Visual controls & tools Mgmt., Lubrication mgmt. & Calibration of equipment(s), Breakdown / root cause analysis etc. •Interface with key stakeholders internally and externally to develop and maintain effective relationships, align priorities to deliver the company objectives, and goals. •Conduct regular equipment inspections and assessments to identify potential reliability issues and develop strategies to mitigate them. •Analyse equipment failure data to identify trends and patterns and develop strategies to improve equipment reliability. •Lead Breakdown analysis and root cause analysis investigations to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and develop effective corrective actions. •Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies to proactively identify and address potential equipment failures. Personal Competencies & Qualifications: Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Manufacturing) Extensive experience of high-volume manufacturing Extensive experience of Continuous Improvement Data collection and analytic skills using Manufacturing intelligence systems Excellent communication (verbal & written), coaching, and leadership skills in a team-based environment. Demonstrated abilities in Data Analytics, problem solving and team building. Strong people management skills with the ability to drive change.
