The Role of the Advocate: Provide a one-to-one support to Young People and Families for up to 15 hours per week (€16.52 PER HOUR) Build a trusting relationship with young people & parents /carers Work with young people and families to achieve their goals Identify and link young people and families with the appropriate community supports Support young people to identify their interests and support parents/carers with parenting Advocates report to Team Leaders and with their support develop a strengths-based, needs-led Individual Service Plan (ISP) with the young personand family. We provide an education service to children aged 4 to 18 yrs and across the full spectrum of educational needs. We are looking for Special Needs Assistants who are enthusiastic, energetic, flexible and responsive to the needs of the children coupled with a willingness to learn and an interest and passion in educating our children attending Children’s Health Ireland, Crumlin as inpatients. • The successful candidate(s) will need to be flexible, self-motivated and be able to display understanding and initiative in the area of special needs support. • Applicants must have a minimum qualification of QQI Level 5 in special needs, or similar. • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to work well as part of a team, display strong work ethic and demonstrate positive interpersonal and communication skills. Cleaning up and re setting function rooms after functions and general assistant to food & beverage staff during working hours. To supervise / manage the team working under you in this role Ideal candidate will be used to working nights, have some supervisory skills and have a fluent level of English.
