Job Purpose: Under the responsibility of the FET Director and reporting directly to the Adult Education Officer (AEO), the Adult Literacy Organiser (ALO) will have responsibility leading and managing specific Adult Education (part-time) programmes and services within designated area of MSLETB. S/he will be responsible for developing, communicating and implementing actions in order to achieve MSLETB’s FET Strategic targets under the National FET Strategy (2026-2030). Key Duties / Areas of Responsibility of ALO Leader of teaching and learning: • Develop and maintain an ethos appropriate to adult learning. • Promote effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies across the service. • Recruit, assess and place learners to appropriate learning groups or one-to-one situations. • Organise and/or support the delivery of initial and ongoing training and development for staff including volunteers. Project Worker
Role The role has two specific areas in which the post holder will work: Family Support Practitioner Project Worker for refugee families from Ukraine and families seeking international protection living in International Protection Accommodation Services accommodation centres across Laois and Offaly, to support the pathway for integrated community based child and family support services. Two days per week Families and children within the Tullamore catchment area in the Barnardos Centre in Tullamore. Biodiversity Officer
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which permanent or temporary vacancies for the position of Biodiversity Officer in Monaghan County Council shall be filled. The successful candidate shall report to the Director of Services, or any other person designated by the Director of Services in the discharge of his or her duties. The role The Biodiversity Officer will promote, manage and coordinate biodiversity related activities in the county. The Biodiversity Officer will play a pivotal role in the preparation, ongoing review and implementation of the Biodiversity Plan. The role involves activation of local communities, businesses, schools, and all interested stakeholders and raising awareness of biodiversity in County Monaghan and requires an ability to engage with the public as part of a team within Monaghan County Council. The Biodiversity Officer will be responsible for drafting and implementing any future plans in relation to biodiversity and will also be responsible for making funding applications and project delivery in relation to biodiversity. Duties and responsibilities The Biodiversity Officer shall perform such duties as may from time to time be assigned in relation to employment and as may be appropriate to any function of the council and shall carry out such instructions as may be given in relation to the performance of their duties. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. Shifts will fall between 8am and 10pm. As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis with a premium rate of pay for hours worked on a Sunday.
