Clinical Nurse Manager, General Hospital
Mallow General Hospital is part of the South West Region. Mallow General Hospital (MGH) is a Model 2 hospital as defined by the Acute Medicine Programme. Mallow General Hospital is a 71 bed Acute General Hospital providing inpatient, outpatient and Day patient services. The services provided in the hospital include – general medicine, cardiology, respiratory, gerontology gastroenterology and endocrinology . In patient medical activity is supported by a Medical Assessment Unit and a High Dependency Unit. Mallow General Hospital also provides elective Day surgery, Endoscopy, Injuries Unit, Outpatient department, Physiotherapy, and Radiology including CT scanning services. Specialist and Advanced Practice Nursing includes Cardiology, Respiratory, Diabetes, Tissue Viability, Obesity, Haemovigilance and Infection Control. Six Health Regions have been established within the HSE, on the basis of the geographical boundaries agreed by the Government in July 2019 and they will be operational from 2024. Each Health Region will be tasked with population specific planning resourcing and delivery of health and social care services for the needs of its unique population. This will result in improved accountability and governance in terms of finance and performance, while also bringing decision-making closer to the frontline.
