Senior Physiotherapist
The Physiotherapy Department provides physiotherapy services to all in-patients within Tipperary University Hospital. This senior grade physiotherapist will work in the acute setting in medical, surgical, neurology, cardio-respiratory and care of the elderly wards / in-patient rehab gym. TippUH physiotherapists also provide consultant only Outpatient services and specialist programmes to the Clonmel catchment area. The Physiotherapy Department in Tipperary University Hospital provides clinical placements to both UL BSc undergraduate students and UCC post graduate MSc students. There is on-going in-service training within the department and a commitment to CPD. This senior grade physiotherapist will also be responsible for the safety, education and clinical supervision of student physiotherapists/staff grade physiotherapists in TippUH and will work as part of the multidisciplinary team. There is weekend physiotherapy on-call associated with this senior grade post. Purpose of the Post To be responsible for the provision of a high quality Physiotherapy service in accordance with standards of professional practice. To work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation. To work with the Physiotherapy Manager in ensuring the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred physiotherapy service across and between networks in the geographical area. To carry out clinical and educational duties as required. Devise and develop appropriate programs of care for the patient’s journey based on best practice.
