CT Clinical Specialist Radiographer Purpose of the Role Reporting to the Radiography Services Managers (RSMs) or designate, the CT Specialist Radiographer has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and allocated resources within the unit. The main responsibilities are quality assurance, scheduling workflow, staff development, facilitating communication and professional/clinical leadership. The Clinical Specialist Radiographer CT will be primarily responsible for ensuring that CT investigations are performed to a high standard of technical quality in a caring and efficient manner and in line with established guidelines and operating procedures. The post holder will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and will lead and supervise radiographic and other staff in CT resulting in the delivery of an efficient, effective, and quality radiography service. They need to work collaboratively within than multi-disciplinary team, liaising with medical, nursing and administrative colleagues to ensure safe and co-ordinated delivery of patient centred care. The CT Clinical Specialist Radiographer will be responsible for the provision of radiation protection within the CT environment, reducing the risks of any adverse radiation effects in compliance with local policies, national legislation, and international regulations. They will be primarily responsible for ensuring that imaging is performed to a high standard of technical quality in a caring and efficient manner and in line with established guidelines and operating procedures. *To note the Radiographer is responsible under legislation for all the practical aspects of medical radiation exposure, and the ct clinical specialist is expected to lead on this.* This role encompasses quality assurance, staff development and effective communication while providing professional and clinical leadership. This position requires the ability to lead, guide and supervise staff in a rapidly changing environment, and the willingness to undertake additional duties as may be assigned from time to time. The Ct Clinical Specialist Radiographer is expected to assist in the delivery of efficient and effective radiography service within the radiology department and must function integrally within the Radiology team and have proficiency to participate in 24/7 services. In addition, the post holder will assume responsibility for coordinating the transition and running of future services at the new National Children’s Hospital.
