***Please read the recruitment pack before completing your application form*** Reserve List Whilst the Council are recruiting for a permanent Safer Communities and Good Relations Manager please note that a reserve list will be compiled for future permanent, temporary, full time and part time posts for Safer Communities and Good Relations Manager positions across the Council District Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary: The Safer Communities and Good Relations Manager will be responsible for assisting the Head of Engagement in developing and implementing the relevant Council strategies within their areas of responsibility. In this capacity, the post-holder will provide clear direction and support to their section(s). They will be responsible for the effective management of services that come under their control in the pursuit of service excellence and value for money. The post-holder will support the Directorate / Section in implementing the integration of new and current functions and responsibilities. They will assist in the delivery of high quality services across the Department by using performance management to drive continuous improvement and by effectively using the Council’s resources. The post-holder will ensure that their Section and its employees comply and adhere to all statutory and legislative requirements and works in accordance with good governance and safety requirements. Duration of Appointment: Permanent Hours of Work: 36 Hours per week The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Work Pattern: Flexi Monday to Friday Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice. Location: Council Offices, Downshire Civic, Downpatrick or Council Offices, McGrath House, Newry. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice.

Relief Care Worker
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their Carers. Our vision is an Ireland where no one goes through dementia alone and where policies and services respond appropriately to the person with dementia and their Carers, at the times they need support. A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is person centered, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their Carer at its core. The ASI is currently recruiting for a Relief Care Worker, who will work in Kilmurry Court, Garryowen, Limerick, V94 DR60. This is a permanent contract. You will work as the need arises. Reporting to the Day Centre Manager, the Care Worker is responsible for providing person centred care to people with dementia, addressing their needs and enhancing their quality of life. To be successful in this role you will need experience of working with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities. FETAC level 5 qualification is desirable but not essential. You will need good communication and organisational skills and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. Salary will be commensurate with the care sector, and dependent on relevant experience.
