The Intensive Care Department consists of a 5 bedded unit with individual isolated negative pressure rooms. There are plans for the development of an additional 5 beds for high dependency patients. The unit caters for both Surgical and Medical patients, including postoperative patients, cardiac patients, neurology patients and patients requiring urgent continuous dialysis therapy. ICU also manages obstetric emergencies and paediatrics when required. We also care for and manage our critical patients who require transfer to a speciality hospital for further intervention ensuring their safe transfer to the correct facility in a timely manner. The Intensive Care Unit is run by a highly specialised and experienced multidisciplinary team.
