Purpose and Function of Post To provide a general housekeeping service including cleaning and caretaking duties within the Council Offices, Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt in order that it is kept and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and service, whilst providing support to services by way of housekeeping arrangements through the provision of hospitality for meetings and engagements within the building. Principal Duties and Tasks Performed: 1. General facility cleaning duties to tidy and dust offices and public areas of the building, vacuuming, including periodically cleaning of the areas not in public use including display cabinets and other offices. 2. Prepare, clean, set up and set down rooms for meetings and functions within the building extending to room layout, screens where required and seating arrangements 3. Responsible for the emptying of bins from offices and rooms throughout the building 4. Maintain, keep an inventory and storage of cleaning agents, chemicals and other equipment as required within the secure areas for same. To arrange for orders to be placed for replacement stock. 5. Responsible for (i) weekly flush of water system in line with legionella control requirements and (ii) fire alarm system weekly checks, maintaining records of same. 6. Set up, review and maintain records of cleaning equipment and materials within the building identifying and registering signs of wear and tear requiring the attention of property services through line management and established system for logging issues. 7. Maintain and keep to a high standard entrance(s) to the building, ensuring they remain free from litter. 8. Provide housekeeping duties for meetings including set-up, and providing tea and coffee as required, followed by room set down preparing the room for the next meeting or engagement 9. Assist, as required, in the provision of tea and coffee for corporately organised staff events or initiatives within the building. 10. Responsible for keeping the staff kitchen facilities clean and tidy, ensuring checks at intervals throughout the day particularly throughout and after staff breaks and lunch. 11. Maintain stock control records to undertake stock control of kitchen, cleaning supplies, kitchen crockery, equipment and utensils. 12. Ensure the maintenance of and safe usage of staff kitchen by council staff, caterers and others. Where faults occur, these are recorded appropriately. 13. Undertake day-to-day porterage duties as required to meet the needs of Council Services. 14. Act as keyholder for facility (including attendance at emergency and out-of-hours alarm call outs and will be responsible for maintaining associated records). Ensure in the morning that gates and building are open and in the evening that lights and appropriate equipment are switched off, windows, doors, gates are closed, offices are secure and alarm system is activated. 15. May be required on occasions to service evening meetings/functions. 16. Act in accordance with the Code of Conduct for Local Government employees. Undertake the foregoing duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of the Council. 17. To take reasonable care for your health and safety and have regard to other persons who may be affected by the performance of your duties, in accordance with the provisions of Health & Safety legislation, and Council Codes of Practice and Procedures. 18. To exercise proper care in handling, operating and safeguarding any equipment or appliance provided, used in the performance of your duties. 19. To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall directorate commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post. Administrative Officer
PURPOSE AND FUNCTION OF THE POST To manage the administrative function of the compliance services, maintain an effective administrative support to the Head of Service and assist the Compliance Officers in the delivery of various statutory obligations placed upon the Council including Equality and Disability, Information Management (Freedom of Information and Data Protection), Land and Property and Health and Safety. To act as a liaison in dealings with other directorates within the Council and with the public in relation to the above services. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assistant Risk Manager
The post holder will have daily operational and development responsibility for the Risk Management service. General Operative Band 3 (Rural)
The Office of Public Works (OPW) invites applications for the appointment to the position of seasonal General Operative Band 3 (Rural) at the Athenry National Monuments District. The position will be based at Poulnabrone Dolmen, Co. Clare. The position, is a Non-Established State Industrial post based on a 39-hour week (full-time) rostered 5 days over 7. (Monday to Sunday) and appointments will be subject to a probationary period of 7 months which may be extended to 10 months under certain circumstances. Continuation in employment in the position, following the end of the Probation Period, will be dependent upon the appointee fully meeting the requirements of the positions during the Probation Period. The actual hours of attendance are determined by local management requirements. This is an OPW recruitment competition to which applicants with the minimum eligibility requirements may apply. Persons who wish to be considered for appointment to the above position should submit a completed application form, and copies of specified required documentation. A short-listing assessment, on the basis of the information supplied on the Application Form, will be used by OPW to select those applicants who are to be invited to attend for competitive interview.
