Apprenticeship Overview This is an entry-level Electrical Apprenticeship and Trainee ATEX Inspector role. Successful candidates will be enrolled in an apprenticeship programme designed to develop the skills, experience and competencies required to become a qualified electrician and ATEX Inspector. During the apprenticeship, you will receive a combination of: • Classroom-based education • Paid on-the-job training • Structured mentoring from experienced inspectors and engineers • Practical exposure to real industrial environments Apprentices will receive training in the: • Installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of wiring systems for industrial applications • Inspection of electrical equipment in non-hazardous areas • Inspection and verification of equipment and installations in potentially explosive atmospheres • Development of technical inspection competence, reporting skills and industry knowledge This role offers exposure to specialist industrial work that few entry-level opportunities can provide. Location and Flexibility The apprenticeship is primarily based in the Dublin and Cork areas, with work carried out throughout Ireland and, at times, further afield. Candidates must be flexible with working hours when required. Due to the success of the programme, we are looking to recruit more apprentices for the September 2026 programme. Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Programme with ATU Sligo: • 3-year programme to achieve a QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering. • Online classes every Monday from 9 am to 6 pm. • Monthly in-person labs/workshops in Sligo. • The remaining duration (Tues to Friday) is dedicated to on the job learning in Glanua. • Course includes regular college assignments and exams after Christmas.
