To support the coordination and implementation of the Council’s Emergency Planning strategy, and disaster recovery and business continuity plans. To work collaboratively to deliver the objectives withing the departmental plan and encourage the successful implementation and sustainability of an effective health and safety management system and champion and promote health and safety across all levels in the organisation. To deputise as required for the Safety Health and Emergency Planning Manager. Hours of Work 36 hours per week. Duaration of Appointment Permanent Work Pattern Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice. Location Downpatrick or Newry. Whilst the current vacant post is based in Downpatrick or Newry suitable candidates who are placed on a reserve list may be offered a similar post in other Council locations. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice. Salary PO1, SCP 29-32, currently £37,938 - £41,511 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked).
Duty Manager
***Please read the recruitment pack before completing your application*** Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary: Responsible for the day to day management of staff and the efficient operation of the designated facility/facilities and surrounding grounds to ensure the highest standards of staff/customer safety, cleanliness, administration, care and excellence are maintained, in accordance with agreed safety and quality standards. Responsible for programming a varied timetable of activities that achieve income targets as required and ensuring compliance to expenditure budgets. Duration of appointment: 3 x Permanent Posts Hours of Work: Post 1 and 2: Average 36 hours per week Post 3: Average 18.5 hours per week The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Work Pattern: Please refer to Job Related Terms and Conditions of Employment. Location and Transferability: Location is Kilkeel Leisure Centre. Kilkeel Leisure Centre is to undergo a refurbishment and as such will be closed for a temporary period whilst these works are undertaken. These posts will be temporarily based at alternative locations during the refurbishment—either Newry Leisure Centre or Down Leisure Centre depending on service needs. The permanent base will be Kilkeel Leisure Centre once the refurbishment is complete. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. ***Please read the recruitment pack before completing your application*** Main Purpose of Post/Job Summary: The postholder will have overall responsibility for the management of designated Indoor Leisure facilities to include staffing, facility, maintenance, resources and budgetary management. This will include responsibility for overseeing and monitoring the safe and efficient operation of designated facilities by ensuring the highest standards of customer service and safety are developed, delivered and maintained across all relevant areas of responsibility. With a particular focus on a comprehensive programme for safety, maintenance, cleanliness and customer experience for staff, contractors and customers who engage with the services and facilities. The postholder will have a close working relationship with the Head of Indoor Leisure to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services, corporate and departmental business plans and strategies. The postholder will provide management cover as and when required at other indoor leisure facilities.
