Community Cohesion Officer
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Good Relations Team is continuing to grow with the exciting incorporation of PEACEPLUS funding to support a Community Cohesion Officer role which will focus on delivery of “Building Respect for all Cultural identities”. This will be delivered alongside general Good Relation activities aligned to the aims and objectives of Council Good Relations Strategy 2026 – 2030. This post is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). The overall objective of the PEACEPLUS programme is to build peace and prosperity, ensuring the programme leaves a lasting and tangible legacy across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. The Good Relations Team in partnership with PEACEPLUS team have created a vibrant programme which builds on the legacy of the Peace IV Cultural Expressions Programme and aims to promote respect, understanding, and acceptance of all cultural identities - both long-established and newly emerging - across the Borough. The postholder will play a key role in planning and implementing a series of inclusive, community-based projects designed to bridge divides between long-established and newcomer communities. Through cultural expression, festival, storytelling, orientation programmes, and diversity training, the programme seeks to foster a vibrant, inclusive Borough where all cultures are valued and celebrated. This role will also assist the creation of spaces for dialogue and reflection, encouraging individuals and groups to consider their role in advancing peace and building connections across divided communities.
Walking For All Officer
To develop, co-ordinate and sustain regular volunteer-led walks in towns, villages and rural communities throughout the Council area, through the recruitment, training and support of Volunteer Walk Leaders to in turn increase the number of people walking and meet the objectives of the Walking for All programme (see background note). Walking For All is a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body, (SEUPB).

This role is responsible for making trips between our various clinics and sites ensuring that samples are collected / delivered on time. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities: • Make multiple trips daily between our third-party clinics, Randox Health Clinics and Laboratories. • Ensure safe delivery of samples back to our laboratory in Sandyford, Dublin each day. • Conduct a sample count on each trip and complete required documentation when transporting samples. Witness the accessioning count upon delivery. • Collect stock orders and deliver them to the required site. • Complete a daily vehicle checklist at the start of each day. • Record vehicle milage in the provided logbook. • Ensure vehicles are filled with the correct fuel and Ad Blue, if required. • Adhere to all speed limits and road laws. Who can apply? Essential criteria: • Full, clean Irish Driving Licence. • Flexibility in your availability. • Good knowledge of the local roads and motorways. • Strong communication/customer service skills • Currently have the right to work in Ireland without visa sponsorship. Desirable: • Previous experience in a multi-drop delivery driver position. • Previous experience in a similar position. • Previous experience transporting medical samples.
