Job Role Short Breaks Project Worker Location SHSCT – Craigavon & Banbridge Area Salary £27,694 per Annum Hours 37 hours per week (30 hours direct contact with families and 7 hours administration flexible (agile) working is available for the completion of administration) Please note: Due to the nature of our work, the majority of the Service is delivered late afternoons, evenings and weekends (not Sunday) The Service Short Breaks is a fun and exciting service providing individual support to children and young people with, disabilities, autism and brain injury some of whom may display behaviours that challenge.The service proves one to one social and emotional support to children/young people. To enable them to develop friendships and access social and recreational opportunities within their local community, whilst providing parents and carers with a regular short break. The Role The Project worker will work to enable young people to access a range of fun activities within their own home or their local area on a one to one or small group setting. It may be attending a local youth club, educational play such as arts and crafts or supporting the young people in sporting or other social/leisure activities. Locum roles are also available. Location: Athlone/Roscommon Adult Services (Athlone, Kilteevan, Roscommon Town Areas). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Athlone/Roscommon Adult services and this work location may change due to future service needs. Working With: People supported and their families/Team Leader/Multidisciplinary staff/Service Management. Qualifications: Candidates must have - All posts are based on a 14-day duty roster. The Psychiatry of Old Age (POA) service is a specialist mental health service providing care to clients over 65 who develop functional psychiatric illness for the first time and those people with dementia who develop behavioural/psychiatric problems requiring specialist input. The service provides a range of Community and Acute Care for patients referred from Sligo, Leitrim, West Cavan and South Donegal. This Consultant post delivers a Psychiatry of Old Age Service in Sligo University Hospital, Community Hospitals and Nursing Homes in the Sligo/Leitrim, West Cavan and South Donegal area with input to the Memory Assessment and Support Services (MASS). Applicants must be registered as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the Specialty of Psychiatry of Old Age.
