Retail Assistant Manager

Overall Purpose of the Post: To maximise sales and profit and assist in managing the shops in a commercial manner. To support the Shop Managers in day-to-day operations, be an advocate for sustainable living and Enable Ireland’s values in the local community and be a champion of reuse. Help meet financial targets while keeping sustainability and style at the heart of the shops. Duties: • Assist in the management and development of the shop in the context of an agreed work plan and agreed financial targets • Assist in training and supervision of shops staff, both paid and voluntary. • Assist in the management, motivation, delegation and organisation of staff • Assist and support other Enable Ireland shops if and when required. • Source high quality stock • Ensure there are adequate staffing levels in the shops at all times • Ensure the appearance of the shops internally and externally is attractive to customers and in line with brand standards • Assist in stock merchandising, its security and its preparation for sale and display • Assist in maintaining accurate management and information systems. • Ensure the shops are stocked with adequate information and leaflets on Enable Ireland services, staff are briefed accordingly. • Deal appropriately and sensitively with queries about Enable Ireland services • Assist in full implementation of Enable Ireland Health & Safety policy in the shops. • Be vigilant and comply with any Health & Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager. • Assist in participating in the efficient flow of information within the organisation by sharing and seeking information as appropriate. • Undertake other duties as requested by the line manager from time to time. • Undertake your work in a manner that is friendly, flexible and informal. GDPR compliance: In the course of carrying out the duties of this job and working with others which will include but is not limited to compliance with all Enable Ireland GDPR policies and procedures, attending all GDPR training sessions, ensuring personal responsibility for implementing safeguards and measures as directed, to minimise exposure to breach GDPR. Terms & Conditions: Responsible to: Shop Managers Probation: A probationary period of 6 months applies, wherein three probationary meetings will take place to review your performance and suitability for appointment. The probationary period may be extended or terminated for any reason at Enable Ireland’s discretion. Salary: The current salary scale for this part-time post is €17,832.00 per annum. 1% profit share pro-rata. Annual leave: Annual leave entitlement is 21 days pro rata per annum plus 2 gift days and proportionately less for less than 12 months service. Pension Scheme: Enable Ireland operates a contributory pension scheme which all employees may join following their start date. Medical: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical assessment. Garda Clearance/ Police Clearance: These will be required for all prospective employees who will undertake relevant work or activities relating to children or vulnerable persons. Sick Pay (If applicable): All periods of sickness exceeding two days must be medically certified. Weekly medical certificates are required thereafter. The Company reserves the right to have you examined by its own Doctor after 3 months continuous sick leave. Upon completion of 6 months continuous service with the Company sick pay will be as follows: Full pay less social welfare for the first 13 weeks of sickness in any 12 month rolling period and half pay less social welfare for a further (13) weeks of sickness absence in the same 12 month rolling period. Redeployment: In exceptional circumstances the organisation reserves the right to redeploy you to an alternative role that is suitable to your skills and experience. What you’ll do As a Legal Counsel, you’ll: Compliance and advisory: · Provide practical legal advice on Irish and EU data protection laws, including GDPR and ePrivacy Regulations. · Provide legal assessment, monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory developments that impact Three, including emerging regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, Data Act, NIS2, CER) within product and privacy governance. · Advise on AI‑enabled decision‑making, profiling, analytics and ensure compliance with GDPR and forthcoming EU AI Act obligations. · Support marketing and technology teams on ePrivacy compliance (cookie management, email marketing, push notifications). · Ensure Three’s data protection policies and practices remain compliant and up to date. · Manage activities relating to data protection filings to maintain ongoing compliance. Policy and contracts: · Draft, negotiate and maintain data protection clauses and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with suppliers, customers and group entities · Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed data protection considerations into projects and business initiatives. · Support development of public-facing privacy resources to foster transparency and customer trust · Integrate privacy-by-design principles into new products, services, and commercial activities. Incident and risk management: · Support and coordinate responses to data protection incidents, investigations, consultations, and filings. · Support interactions with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) and other EU supervisory authorities on complaints, inquiries and notifications · Conduct and advise on privacy impact assessments and risk assessments for new projects and vendors. Performance Metrics and Reporting · Manage the maintenance of up‑to‑date records of processing and DPIAs across business units; produce quarterly privacy KPIs and executive reports for the DPO · Ensure all DPIAs are reviewed within agreed service levels and all relevant staff complete privacy training. What we’re looking for Must have: · Excellent knowledge of Irish and EU data protection law, including GDPR and ePrivacy. · 4–6 years’ post-qualification legal experience. · Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. · Proven project management skills and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, agile environment. · Experience working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
