Job Purpose Reporting day-to-day to the Director of High Performance, the High Performance Programme Manager will work as part of the High Performance Unit. They will support the work of the Unit across all of its areas of activity in accordance with the Sport Ireland Strategy 2023-2027 and the High Performance Strategy 2021-2032. Duties and Responsibilities • Contribute to the management of programmes that will deliver Sport Ireland’s contribution to the achievement of the specific recommendations detailed in the High Performance Strategy and the Paris Cycle System Review. • Contribute to the management of effective partnerships with other agencies and client organisations in a manner that supports and reflects Sport Ireland’s objectives for high performance sport. • Contribute to the management of Sport Ireland’s investment in high performance sport across all funding programmes, ensuring compliance with Sport Ireland’s policy and procedures, and adherence to established financial controls. • Manage the administration and operation of Sport Ireland’s High Performance Programme Funding, which is provided on a multi-annual basis to National Governing Bodies. • Support the High Performance Unit in the operation and administration of the International Carding Scheme and other direct athlete funding schemes. • Act as secretary to the High Performance Committee and facilitate regular meetings. • Manage personnel within the High Performance Unit including performance management reviews. • Assist with the high performance communications programme in accordance with the overall Sport Ireland policy. This will include assisting with parliamentary questions, speeches and other marketing requirements driven by the Communications Unit. • Assist the High Performance Director in all general strategic initiatives as may be in place from time to time such as performance management, project management and be able to offer views and opinions to further development. • Keep up to date on all matters relating to high performance in sports through attendance at world events, seminars and conferences and reading appropriate journals, periodicals and other research papers. This is not an exhaustive list, and the role will include any duties required by Sport Ireland from time to time which are appropriate for the position and the needs of the organisation. Qualifications The post-holder will be academically strong with at least a primary degree. A post-graduate qualification in a relevant field would be a significant advantage. Additional Information Contract: Full-time, 9 month fixed term contract. Salary Scale: HEO Standard Scale. The appointment will be made on this scale at a point in line with current Government Pay Policy. New entrants to the public sector commence on the first point of the scale. Senior Library Assistant
About the Role This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a team in the day-to-day operations of a work area. The Senior Library Assistant will liaise with the line manager in relation to planning and implementing the work programme on a day-to-day basis. The Senior Library Assistant will be responsible for delivering on specific work programmes. Libraries Development is the national advisor and development agency for public libraries in Ireland. As set out in the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2012 (Transfer of Functions of An Chomhairle) Order 2012, the functions of Libraries Development are: Provision of advice, assistance and services to library authorities in relation to the public library service. Making recommendations to and providing services for the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government in relation to the public library service as the Minister may request or as Libraries Development sees fit. Action to promote and facilitate library co-operation. Libraries Development was established in 2012 within the Local Government Management Agency and continues the functions of An Chomhairle Leabharlanna, The Library Council. Libraries Development works with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Department of Rural and Community Development and local authorities in strategic planning. While working directly with the local authorities in piloting and implementing strategies, it also co-ordinates and monitors progress at national level. Libraries Development liaises and partners with international and national library and cultural sector bodies for innovation, best practice and expertise sharing and with EU expert groups for EU policy input. Key Duties and Responsibilities The Senior Library Assistant will support the work of Libraries Development and be responsible for a range of work areas including: Assisting in the implementation of national public library strategy. Assisting in the planning of the workload for the Libraries Development team. Liaising with local authorities, the Department of Rural and Community Development, other government departments and relevant national bodies and project partners. Researching new public library trends and services in Ireland and internationally. Assisting in the development and rollout of national initiatives. St Caimin’s Community School invites applications for the permanent position of a Grade III Officer. This is a full-time permanent position, 35 hours per week. St Caimin’s Community School is a co-educational school with an enrolment of 790 students. Purpose of the role: The Clerical Officer is at the centre of the administrative hub of the school and school community and works closely with the Principal, senior management team, teachers, other non-teaching staff, students, and parents, taking responsibility for a broad variety of important secretarial and administrative support functions, and coordinating the workflow and wide range of activities processed through the administration office. THE ROLE: Reporting to a designated senior officer, Senior Executive Technicians work as part of a team developing the implementation of civil engineering and multidisciplinary programmes in the areas of roads and associated structures, housing, and other ancillary services. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POST CHARACTER: Each candidate must be of good character. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A Senior Executive Technician is responsible for the delivery of particular services to the public. SUPERANNUATION CONTRIBUTION: If you join the public service for the first time, on or after the 1st January 2013, the Single Public Service Pension Scheme will apply to you. Superannuation contributions are as follows: 3.5% of net pensionable remuneration and 3% of pensionable remuneration. Pension and retirement lump sum will be based on career-average pay; pensions will be co-ordinated with the State Pension Contributory. The Single Pension Scheme is a Defined Benefit Pension Scheme. A person who becomes a pensionable employee of a local authority who is liable to pay the Class A rate of PRSI contribution and is in the public service prior to 1st January 2013, will be required in respect of superannuation to contribute to the local authority at the rate of 1.5% of pensionable remuneration plus 3.5% of net pensionable remuneration (i.e. pensionable remuneration less twice the annual rate of social insurance old age contributory pension payable at the maximum rate to a person with no adult dependant or qualified children). Contributions will also be applicable to the Spouse and Children’s pension scheme. A person who becomes a pensionable employee of a local authority who is liable to pay the Class D rate of PRSI contribution will be required in respect of his/her superannuation to contribute to the local authority at the rate of 5% of pensionable remuneration. A person may also be required, if applicable, in respect of the Local Government (Spouse and Children's Contributory Pension) Scheme, to contribute to the local authority at the rate of 1.5% of pensionable remuneration in accordance with the terms of the scheme. Employees are admitted to the Local Government Superannuation Scheme in accordance with the terms of the Local Government Superannuation (Consolidation) Act 1998 and the Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004, with effect from date of appointment. This Scheme is a Defined Benefit Scheme and provides for payment of a pension, retirement lump sum and death gratuity. Standards & Monitoring Officer
The National Disability Authority wishes to appoint a Standards and Monitoring Officer within the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design, Standards & Monitoring Department. It is expected that an initial vacancy to be filled from this panel will be a full-time, specific purpose role. This competition will result in the creation of a panel for full-time or part-time, permanent or temporary roles over the next two years. In the first instance the post holder will fulfil the duties of Standards and Monitoring Officer within NDA but may be redeployed at Higher Executive Officer level as needs arise within the agency. As Standards and Monitoring Officer the post holder will be required to provide technical advice and expertise in relation to the development and monitoring of standards relevant to programmes and services accessed by persons with disabilities. The post holder will also be required to promote Universal Design in standards and monitoring work, in order to include people with disabilities but also people of any age, size or ability. The person appointed will be part of the NDA’s Centre for Excellence in Universal Design, Standards and Monitoring (CEUDSM) Department and will report to the Head of Department or their nominee. The successful implementation of this role requires a number of key relationships to be fostered and developed. These will include relationships with colleagues and personnel from a range of agencies, including the public and private sectors and representative organisations of people of any age, size, ability or disability. A high degree of flexibility and creativity will be required. As a staff member, the holder of the post will be expected to work cross-functionally to actively contribute to and participate in the overall development of the NDA and to promote its policies at all times, to effectively represent the NDA, and to adhere to NDA values. Main Duties and Responsibilities The core duties and responsibilities will include the following: · To provide advice and expertise both internally and externally on the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of codes of practice in relation to programmes and services for persons with disabilities and in the area of accessibility and Universal Design; · To assist in the development of guidance, performance indicators, and support the monitoring and implementation of codes of practice and standards as required with a focus on monitoring the implementation of the Code of Practice (COP) on the Accessibility of Public Services and Information provided by Public Bodies [1] . This COP also supports the implementation of the European Accessibility Act and SI636/23; · To assist and attend committee and working group meetings on standards and related topics, and to present information and advice at such meetings; · To provide advice on and contribute to the review and evaluation of existing standards; · To keep informed of, and monitor all developments pertaining to, standards and standards methodologies relating to disability and Universal Design; · To undertake research and information gathering on standards generally for people with disabilities but also in the wider context of Universal Design; · To effectively liaise and engage with external organisations as appropriate in information and data gathering; · To contribute to the research and policy analysis when necessary to underpin and provide evidence-based advice on standards, policy and practice; · To support and work closely with NDA’s Research, Policy and Public Affairs staff in cross-functional and interdepartmental projects; · To manage and support staff where required; · To carry out such other duties and undertake training as may be assigned and required from time to time. Person Specification The essential requirements for the post of Standards and Monitoring Officer include: · Primary degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience at an appropriate level with experience of quality assurance, monitoring Codes of Practice or development of standards and/or guidance and /or quality assurance systems; · A demonstrated ability to monitor implementation of procedures, practices, policy or standards and to independently formulate advice and guidance based on research, evidence and best practice; · An aptitude for precision, attention to detail and commitment to quality results; · Good judgement, decision-making, analysis and problem-solving skills; · Excellent interpersonal skills with experience of influencing and interacting effectively with a range of external stakeholders, including statutory and non-statutory agencies; · Strong written and oral communication skills; · Demonstrated project management experience, ability to work on multiple projects and adaptable to change; · Evidence of an ability to work on own initiative complemented by a capacity to work well in both staff teams as well as external working groups; · Drive, initiative and flexibility; · A high degree of computer literacy, including knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and graphic presentation software to compliment report and promotional activities.
