Title of Post: Radiation Therapist, Clinical Specialist, Cork University Hospital Details of Service: Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest university teaching hospital in Ireland with over 40 different medical and surgical specialties on the campus housing 1000 in-patient beds. CUH is the tertiary referral centre for the HSE Southern area, and the supra-regional area of Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, Waterford and Kilkenny. CUH therefore acts as a regional centre for secondary and tertiary care for the catchment population of 550,000 served by the HSE Southern area and a supra-regional centre for a total population of 1.1 million. A new state of the art Radiation Oncology facility is now open and houses cutting edge technology including 5 Elekta Versa HD Linear Accelerators capable of SABR/SRS along with Surface-guided radiotherapy on all Linac’s. The department also has 2 GE CT simulators and a brachytherapy suite. Purpost of Post: To provide specialist clinical care within a team of Radiation Therapists in the day-to-day provision of safe and accurate radiotherapy services.
