ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE (a) Good working knowledge of carrying out repair and maintenance of varioustypes of vehicles. (f) Completing such risk assessments and risk assessment reports as are required for compliance with the Council’s Occupational Safety, Health, and Welfare Management System and/or designated Safety Management System. The person employed will be required to perform assigned duties exercising a duty of care, in the interest of safety of oneself, fellow employees and the general public, at all timesin compliance with Clare County Council’s Health & Safety Management System. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 1. Character Each candidate must be of good character. 2. Health Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. 3. Education, Training, Experience, etc. Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms: (a) Be a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Motor Mechanic / Motor Technician and have served a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a minimum National Craft Cert or equivalent. (c) Hold a full clean current driving licence in respect of Category B Vehicles or equivalent in the EU Model Driving Licence on the latest date for the receipt of completed applications. Class C driving license is desirable but not essential at this time. Successful candidate will be required to complete Class C driving licence within the first 1 year followed by Class CE licence within the following 12 months of employment which Clare County Council will provide for. (d) Have a good standard of education to enable them to carry out their duties efficiently. Failure to input and upload proof of essential educational qualifications in your application form will deem you ineligible for this competition. *Non-Irish Qualifications must be accompanied by a determination from Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) to establish their comparability against the Irish National Framework of Qualifications, overseas qualifications must also be accompanied by a translation document.
