On successful completion of this heavy vehicle Mechanics apprenticeship, the apprentice is awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in the Craft of heavy vehicle Mechanics. Fit safety crash barriers and reflector markings • Lights Remove/replace components and focus headlights Specialist Skills Brakes: Diagnose/rectify faults in ABS brakes. Diagnose faults in air assisted hydraulic and full air brake systems. Remove/replace and adjust system components • Engine: Carry out complete engine overhaul • Hydraulics: Overhauling and fitting tipping gear, tail lift and loading/ unloading crane equipment • Suspension: Diagnose and rectify faults in pneumatically and electronically controlled air suspension systems • Transmission: Diagnose faults in and overhaul gearboxes. Diagnose faults in and overhaul differential and hub-reduction units. Diagnose and rectify faults in pneumatically and electronically operated gear change, differential and inter axle locking mechanisms • Electrical Diagnose/rectify faults in electrical circuits using wiring diagrams and multimeter. Remove/refit vehicle entertainment systems. Install basic electrical equipment • Bodywork: Adjustment and overhaul/replacement of fifth wheel coupling and semi trailer king pin Common Skills • Metalwork: Basic bench fitting. Strategic Information Officer
Overall role and context: CORDA, the University’s data and institutional research unit, assists the VP Strategy with reporting on the = University’s performance against its strategic targets both to internal groups (specifically the Executive Board and the Governing Body) and to external agencies, including the HEA. It provides key management data for the University management team as a support to decision-making. It assists other units within the University, especially Faculties, to measure their performance, identify their priorities, and plan ahead. It gives confidence to the stakeholders, internal and external, as to the basis for and trajectory of institutional strategy. A Strategic Information Officer is required to work closely with the VP Strategy as part of CORDA, with specific short-term responsibility for data from the Carlow and Wexford campuses. The successful candidate will assist with • collating, validating, analysing and reporting on key institutional data. • developing performance reports against university targets and with the analysis of those performance reports. • developing and refining reporting tools to aid the President, Executive and Governing Body in directing the Institute into the future. • working with Executive members and other University leaders on building a data-rich environment to support decision-making. The role is a senior role and requires motivated individuals with the requisite communication, technical, analytical, and professional skills to contribute to the Institute’s future strategic development. Academic Qualifications • Leaving Certificate- having obtained at least Grade D3 in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate Examination (Higher, Ordinary or vocational programmes) or equivalent. or have passed an examination at the appropriate level within the QQI qualifications framework which can be assessed as being of a comparable to Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or higher. or have appropriate relevant experience which encompasses equivalent skills and expertise. Experience • At least 5 years relevant administration experience Specific knowledge and skills • Knowledge and experience of institutional data, including institutional SRS, RGAM return, ECF return • Strong familiarity with institutional systems. • Strong familiarity with institutional Strategic Plan and with approach to planning. • An ability to integrate data from multiple data sets into user-friendly original reports. I.T. Skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Familiarity with Power BI or equivalent reporting tool. Locum Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist
Purpose of role: The newly appointed consultant will integrate with established teams at both TSCUH and OLCHC. This is a locum post, being filled to maintain current service levels. The appointee will deliver general nephrology outpatient clinics at both sites, in addition to integrating into our established specialist nephrology clinics which are run on a collaborative basis (e.g. transplant and dialysis clinics; nephro-urology; specialist nephrology follow up clinics). The appointee will play a full role in delivering inpatient ward rounds; and providing a consultation service at both sites. The appointee will take an active part in the on call rota and work with colleagues to provide comprehensive and seamless cover for paediatric nephrology at a regional and national level. Eligibility Criteria: Mandatory Professional Qualifications and Experience a) Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of paediatrics And b) Two years postgraduate training and experience in Paediatric Nephrology “The successful interviewee must be registered as a specialist in the relevant specialty on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland, within 180 days of the day of interview and before taking up appointment. In exceptional circumstances proleptic appointments may be considered for candidates engaged in relevant training programmes. The Consultant must, at all times while continuing to hold office, continue to be registered with the Medical Council of Ireland. Documentary evidence of Medical Council Registration is required and must be produced annually to the Medical Administration Department within the Children’s Health Ireland. Should the successful candidate not be registered as a Specialist at that time, the post may be offered to the next suitable candidate.
