It is an advantage to have had experience working in day services, designing and implementing programmes to enable them to carry out successfully the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability. Experience in establishing links with the community and micro enterprises is also an advantage. A full clean manual Irish Driver’s Licence is essential. Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post. Working Hours: 78 hours a fortnight based on a 5-day week duty roster. The normal working hours will be Monday – Friday but may involve weekend work if required to meet the needs of the people we support or Personal Outcomes. Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm over 7 days to meet the requirements of the programme. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual. REA Adult Services provide a range of community-based servicesincluding day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively. Remuneration: Department of Health Social Care Worker salary scale as at 01/08/2025 apply: €40,351 x 11 increments - €55,599 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). A long service increment €56,650 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays and night duty when worked. Salary quoted is based on a 39-hour working week. The successful candidate will be granted incremental credit subject to satisfactory verification of previous public sector service. Tenure: This post is Permanent, full time and pensionable.
