Job Description - To greet, serve and offer correct advice to customers in a polite and friendly manner. - Operating tills and handling sale transactions accurately and following through in all end of day transactions. - To actively sell products and meet targets using appropriate selling techniques and merchandising. - To maintain displays and re-stock shelves when necessary. - Ordering stock, unpacking deliveries and checking dispatch notes, reporting shorts. - Operating stock control to include the ordering and rotation of goods. - Informing customers on all health and associated products including over the counter medication, minor ailments and services offered by the Pharmacy. - Promoting new and current product ranges using appropriate selling techniques. - Merchandising products and general upkeep of shop floor. - To communicate with and work effectively alongside other staff members. - Accepting prescriptions for filing, gathering and processing labels using IT systems. - Label and dispense Prescriptions to patients in accordance with correct operating procedures to ensure safe supply to patients in an efficient and accurate manner. - Issue prepared prescriptions to patients. - Maintain an accurate records of all transactions. - Ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and maintain temperature control record / log book. - Taking telephone enquiries and referring callers to the pharmacist when necessary. - Dealing with customer complaints effectively. - Keeping the shop and staff areas clean and tidy whilst maintaining a safe working environment. - Other duties as required. Communications and Awareness Officer
PERIOD OF APPOINTMENT The post is a permanent, full-time appointment. SALARY Salary will be in the range £37,694 - £38,990 per annum. Starting salary will be the minimum of the scale and pay progression will be as per current NICS pay policy. ANNUAL LEAVE AND PRIVILEGE HOLIDAYS In addition to public and privilege holidays, currently 12 days, the annual leave allowance will be 25 days, rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service. VETTING The successful candidate will be required to satisfy pre-employment checks undertaken by AccessNI in accordance with the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order 2007 (as amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012). WORKING PATTERN The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. LOCATION The office of the post holder will be located at Seatem House, 28-32 Alfred Street, Belfast, BT2 8EN. The organisation operates a hybrid working policy, which stipulates a minimum of 2 days per week based in the office. The post holder will be office-based until fully trained and can then avail of hybrid working. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The postholder will play a key role in developing awareness and understanding of VSS. This is a varied role and will include public relations as well as building digital presence through strong multimedia skills for creating visual content. VSS use trauma informed practices in all communication and stakeholder engagement activity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Stakeholder Engagement The foregoing is a broad range of duties and is not intended to be a complete description of all tasks. It is important to note that additional duties appropriate to the grade may be allocated and the responsibilities may change to meet the evolving needs of VSS. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Applicants should be aware that after an eligibility sift, shortlisting will be done by carrying out an objective evaluation of the information provided by candidates against the eligibility criteria, so that only those candidates who best demonstrate they meet the criteria will be invited to interview. By the closing date for applications, candidates must demonstrate that they fulfil each of the following essential criteria: A degree level qualification in a communications, media, public relations or marketing related subject AND at least one year’s demonstrable experience in the following areas: OR Three years’ demonstrable experience in the following areas: a) Implementation of an external communication plan and demonstrate delivery across multiple platforms. b) Experience working with both reactive media enquiries and proactive announcements. c) Creating high quality, engaging content for diverse audiences across print and digital platforms using tools such as Canva, Sway and Mailchimp. This includes press releases, reports, corporate publications, web articles, social media graphics, newsletters and multimedia presentations. d) Successfully developing and monitoring digital media channels to include content management sites, social media platforms and digital marketing tools. e) Practical experience developing positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and delivery of stakeholder engagement planning. f) Implementation of successful internal communication campaigns. A current Full UK Driving License with access to a car. This will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements. Desirable Criteria In addition, applicants should be aware that after an eligibility sift, should it be necessary to shortlist candidates to go forward to interview, this will be done by applying the following additional criteria: Demonstrable experience in public affairs with knowledge of the political landscape in Northern Ireland. This role of the Treatment Coordinator (TCO) is to ensure the Patient has a smooth and positive experience when visiting the Practice from when they enter, throughout treatment and aftercare. Clinical Scientist – NGS – Remote (Job Ref: 25/CSGB) Randox Genomics Services Group require a qualified Clinical Scientist to work with the existing team reporting genomic test results and developing new NGS tests. The person must be registered with HCPC [Health and Care Professions Council UK] as a Clinical Scientist. We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Clinical Scientist within our NGS team. Randox has ISO 15189 accredited genomic sequencing facility at the Randox Clinical Laboratory Services unit at the Randox Science Park in Antrim, UK. This laboratory has an Illumina NovaSeq 6000, NextSeq 2000 and MiSeq sequencers, Tecan Evo robotics with accessory equipment such as thermal cyclers, Tape stations, SeqStudio Genetic analyser. The facility also has an iScan high density array equipment. The unit has a range of staff including senior clinical scientists, laboratory managers, team leaders, NGS scientists and reporting scientists, and a bioinformatics team. Location : Remote, however some travel to our HQ in Antrim, Northern Ireland will be required. Contract Offered : Full-time, permanent Working Hours / Shifts : 8.40am to 5.20pm, Monday to Friday, however some flexibility may be required. The Role: The main purpose of this post is to review and approve clinical interpretative reports, assist in development of new tests, help develop automated reporting systems and assist with other R&D projects. In addition, the person will be expected to provide expert genetic and genomics advice to sales and marketing teams and staff at the Randox Health Clinics. Some of the main duties of the role include: • To ensure strict adherence to all laboratory procedures • To ensure that all work is done in compliance with ISO15189 • To review and approve clinical diagnostic reports for NGS assays and other genetic assays • To assist with data analysis • To assist in the development of new genomic assays • Use of Bioinformatics packages and variant interpretation and reporting software • Deliver presentations on NGS diagnostic tests as required Essential Criteria: • Qualified to Honours degree level in a suitable Life Science discipline with a 2:1 grade or above • To be registered with HCPC as a Clinical Scientist in molecular genetics/genomics or related discipline involving molecular biology • To maintain professional membership of national and international societies such as BSGM, RCPath etc. • Experience in Molecular Diagnostic Testing, sequence variant interpretation and clinical reporting • 3 years’ experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory or equivalent • Excellent presentation and communication skills • Must have excellent time management, organisational and database skills (Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office packages) • Ability to work independently • Currently have the right to work in the UK. Desirable • Further qualification MSc or PhD in relevant discipline related to molecular genetics • Experience in clinical interpretative reporting of NGS panel tests for inherited cancer and / or inherited cardiac disorders, clinical exomes or genomes, viral genomes. • Experience in Bioinformatics packages and sequence variant interpretation.
