**Please read recruitment pack before completing your application** Job Summary To support the organization, to achieve compliance with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978 and relevant statutory provisions by fulfilling the role of ‘competent person’ as outlined in the Management of Health and Safety at Work (NI) Regulations 2000. To support the coordination and implementation of the Council’s Emergency Planning strategy, and disaster recovery and business continuity plans. To work collaboratively to deliver the objectives withing the departmental plan and encourage the successful implementation and sustainability of an effective health and safety management system and champion and promote health and safety across all levels in the organisation. To deputise as required for the Safety Health and Emergency Planning Manager. Hours of Work 36 hours per week. Duaration of Appointment Permanent Work Pattern Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice. Location Downpatrick or Newry. Whilst the current vacant post is based in Downpatrick or Newry suitable candidates who are placed on a reserve list may be offered a similar post in other Council locations. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirements as may arise from time to time. Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice. Responsible for programming a varied timetable of activities that achieve income targets as required and ensuring compliance to expenditure budgets.
