Enforce via both proactive and reactive measures, all relevant legislation, local Orders and bye-laws relating to dogs, litter, waste and local environmental quality matters. Contribute to effective liaison and partnership arrangements related to the functions of the department. Project Support Officer
**Please read the recruitment pack before completing your application** Job Summary To assist with the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance and progress the community development and regeneration of District with a particular focus on opportunities arising from current and emerging funding streams. The post holder will also assist in the management and implementation of funded revenue / capital projects, and management and administration of financial assistance programmes. The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant. Safety, Health And Emergency Planning Officer

To support the coordination and implementation of the Council’s Emergency Planning strategy, and disaster recovery and business continuity plans. To work collaboratively to deliver the objectives withing the departmental plan and encourage the successful implementation and sustainability of an effective health and safety management system and champion and promote health and safety across all levels in the organisation. To deputise as required for the Safety Health and Emergency Planning Manager. Hours of Work 36 hours per week. Duaration of Appointment Permanent Work Pattern Flexi 36 hours Monday to Friday Hours of work are kept under review and may change in order to meet operational requirements, providing requisite notice. Location Downpatrick or Newry. Whilst the current vacant post is based in Downpatrick or Newry suitable candidates who are placed on a reserve list may be offered a similar post in other Council locations. Kilkeel Leisure Centre is to undergo a refurbishment and as such will be closed for a temporary period whilst these works are undertaken. These posts will be temporarily based at alternative locations during the refurbishment—either Newry Leisure Centre or Down Leisure Centre depending on service needs. The permanent base will be Kilkeel Leisure Centre once the refurbishment is complete. This will include responsibility for overseeing and monitoring the safe and efficient operation of designated facilities by ensuring the highest standards of customer service and safety are developed, delivered and maintained across all relevant areas of responsibility. With a particular focus on a comprehensive programme for safety, maintenance, cleanliness and customer experience for staff, contractors and customers who engage with the services and facilities. The postholder will have a close working relationship with the Head of Indoor Leisure to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services, corporate and departmental business plans and strategies. The postholder will provide management cover as and when required at other indoor leisure facilities.
