Clinical Nurse Specialist, Neurodisability
Purpose of the Role Caseload: Children and young people under 16 years of age. The post holder will focus initially on the following patient groups: children with a complex neurodisability/neurodevelopmental condition, children with a diagnosis of ASD/autism encountering such issues as continence, sleep and feeding challenges and any other child requiring neurodisability/neurodevelopmental care support. The post holder will work with the Children’s Neurodisability/Neurodevelopmental Consultants, Nursing and MDT at CHI at Tallaght to support the development and delivery of specialist neurodisability/neurodevelopmental services. The CNS in Neurodisability is a defined area of nursing practice that requires the application of specially focused knowledge and skills, which are both in demand and required to improve the quality of patient care and meet service needs. The post holder is responsible for providing specialist, evidence based nursing care to children and their families. Essential Criteria: · Be registered in the Children’s Division of the active Register held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered. · Have 5 years post registration experience and a minimum of 2 years in the specialty or related area. · Have a recognised post graduate course relevant to the area of Neurodisability/Complex NeedsNursing of not less than a level 8 on the NFQ framework. · Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
